Fox Hosts Complain About Trump’s Mic Potentially Being Cut During Debates

The hosts of “Fox and Friends” griped on Thursday morning about the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) reportedly changing its rules to allow President Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Joe Biden to be put on mute during the upcoming debates if they refuse to let the other speak per CPD rules.

Co-host Steve Doocy wondered “who decides to cut off the President of the United States”

It’s called “the rules”. You’re instructed to remain silent while your opponent answers the question presented them. You have your say during your allotted rebuttal time. WTF is so hard about that?

who decides to cut off the President of the United States? Steve, I’ll give it a shot. I’m fair and balanced. I’m sure there’s another 80 million of us left who would be just as good at this task.

Co-host Steve Doocy wondered “who decides to cut off the President of the United States” and argued that doing so could potentially lead to “conspiracy theory ideas.”

You know, they both have the right to say what they want,” Doocy said of Trump and Biden. “They just have to figure out how to do it within the rules.”

Heck, we didn’t even have to wait for IMPOTUS to rage tweet it, he’s got his propaganda arm in motion already.

Like he would follow rules anyway.

Well, Steve, you start by actually observing the rules. Not that hard to “figure out.” Agree to the rules, then abide by the rules. But, as you know damn well, Steve, that’s just not your guy. In the immortal words of John Prine, “you have no complaint - you are what you are and you ain’t what you ain’t.”

Fox News host Brian Kilmeade painted the idea as a personal indignity to President Donald Trump.

Personal indignity and assault upon the AMERICAN people is this:

What would Doocy’s reaction be if Fox parked a 4th person on the sofa every morning and told that person to commence a ceaseless stream of insults and invectives, from the beginning to the end of his show, refusing to let any of the other three present get a word in edgewise?

He, or to be fair, his campaign, agreed to those rules in advance. He planned, with the assistance of his staff and campaign, to behave that way. It wasn’t that he went over his time once.
Imagine their response if they plan to put him in an isolation booth.

Who decides to cut off the President? In less than five weeks, about 85,000,000 voters, that’s who.

Of course it will be. Trump spends his entire debate prep practicing methods that are known to cause former stutterers to have a relapse. Trump only needs a 2 or 3 second clip of Biden stuttering, and this will cut down on the likelihood. Also, kudos to Joe for trying to remain calm in the storm.

Get the fainting couches and the smelling salts, Martha. Fuck News folks are dropping like flies that their boy might have to play by the rules.

Yeah, I gather they’re making excuses for Donnie ahead of another forthcoming disaster, but what are they really saying here?
That Donnie should have the power to trammel his opponents right to free expression and conduct an inquisition of him in what is supposed to be shared time. Without having to answer for anything himself.
That’s not a presidency, that’s a tyranny.

“Welcome to the show, Mr. President?”

This is hilarious.

They know Trump is his own worst enemy.

Cutting the Mic on trump is what they want.

They just also want to play victim when the necessary happens.

I say no mute… just a series of red lights on the podium indicating a violation of agreed upon rules.

When did Comedy Central buy Fox?

Oh for Christ’s sake…since they can’t talk about the sht show they instead pivot to WHAT ABOUT and IT MIGHT BE and IT’S SO NOT FAIR to create a new narrative where Donnie is ‘victim’ and he can call in and whine on F&F. For once in their miserable lives it would be nice for them to focus on what IS.
