The Motion Picture Association of America, the film and TV industry’s main lobbying organization, on Friday announced that its CEO Chris Dodd, the former Connecticut Democratic Senator, had hired a new chief operating officer: Diane Strahan will take on the role of MPAA COO, leaving behind her previous job as the senior vice president and general manager of mobile and Internet registry services at Neustar, a realtime analytics and data company that manages the U.S. phone number portability system for when customers switch carriers and want to keep the same number.
