For The Women Who Accused The Trump Campaign Of Harassment, It’s Been More Harassment

Yeah, the Harvard Law School entry requirements must be on the floor these days.

Short on time here, but briefly, I haven’t jumped on anyone, I’m just doing a little consciousness-raising because I’ve seen so many times, even on here, and the rest of the net, how deeply ingrained it is in all of us to throw women under the bus with glee and zeal, partly because it’s more comforting to think that they really just fucked up because they’re stupid and thus it’s not that women continually run a gauntlet of misogyny and harassment throughout their lives in the world. This is a little like castigating actresses who wound up meeting with Weinstein in his hotel suite for potentially important career discussions as morons, what were they thinking?! Stupid b! When the other person involved is literally a rapist. The moral opprobrium needs to go in the right place, that’s all. Gotta go!

Yes. And even in the over-the-top analogy, ppl who are clued in to the realities women live with being so hard that most cope with via denial wherever possible, those girls would deserve our sympathy, partly because most likely their denial would now be broken. Mean girls like those postulated are furious with other women for weakening their own denial of their situation as women. “That does NOT happen!!” Or here, or whatever. Once they themselves are assaulted, that’s out the window anyway and they are confronted with their realities of the situation they share with the other girl, and with women generally. Even if they didn’t, they would still deserve our sympathy, as does anyone who’s assaulted. Do some of us want to go into “What was she wearing?” territory? Do we want to go back to those days? The era of blame anyone but the perp?
