COVID invaded my immediate family and claimed my stepfather this past Sunday.

These actions are beyond stupid and border on criminal.

I get my second dose on the 16th and wil continue to wear a mask into the foreseeable future.

He and his family and buddies are vaccinated. In good Trumpish fashion, that’s all he cares about. Everyone else can die. I’d call that verging on, if not over the line for, at least criminal negligence.

I live in Texas and I’m furious. This is insane. I’m also one of the ones who had no power or water when it was 19 degrees outside thanks to republican “governance” if you can call it that.

Living in New Mexico, I’m in favor of a border wall with Texas.

Though I would want us to allow any Democrats from Texas political asylum, no questions asked.

New York, we Texans feel your pain. Your governor is a disgusting sexist pig. Our governor is a pro-business champion of the unfettered exchange of viru. . .er. . . capitalism. You’ve been chafing under Cuomo’s restrictions. We’ll bite the bullet for you. Send us Cuomo. We’ll send you Abbott. He loves FREEDUMB!!
PLEASE!! Take Abbott!! Help us!!

So he’s panned . He won’t change his decision even if case counts go higher, and will continue to be proud of it. You can’t shame the shameless.

He’s also successfully got people to stop talking about the storm, the dead from preventable power outages, and any plan to prevent it from happening again because there is no plan.

Give @tena a heads-up first, please, so she can slip across the line to her Taos “safe house”.

This is nothing more or less than Abbott looking to shore up the GOP base in an attempt to fend off a primary challenge from the uber-right that he could well lose after repeatedly fucking things up the last two years.

Will you take unaccompanied adults? Or only minors?

For shame is a meaningless statement with the modern GOP. They’ve learned that not having shame is how you maintain power with 50-some-% of the country.

Will Abbott announce a mandatory handshaking policy?
And a prohibition on hand-washing?
It would certainly make him a folk hero amongst the lunatics.

“Today’s announcement does not abandon safe practices that Texans have mastered over the past year. Instead, it is a reminder that each person has a role to play in their own personal safety and the safety of others,”

Try and be safe

“With this executive order, we are ensuring that all businesses and families in Texas have the freedom to determine their own destiny.”

If you don’t want to be safe though that’s fine. Tell people who ask you to still wear a mask or stand back to “fuck off”.

I implore Governor Inslee of Washington State to have the State Highway Patrol stop and turn back any vehicle with Texas plates. We do not want spreaders in our state.

I guess the snow storm did not kill enough people in Texas. This should do it. That’s the ticket.

How much fear and hate do these ‘conservative’ voters have that they willingly subject themselves and their loved ones to government by such cruel, ignorant, abusive and reckless officials? This just makes no sense. Guys like Abbott cruise to electoral wins and it isn’t because of obstacles to voting. People want these guys. How did ‘Democrat’ become such a dirty word that people will board the Hindenburg knowing the outcome!?! Over and over and over again!

Any non-republican seeking a better life. Of course things aren’t perfect here in NM but at least our governor isn’t trying to kill us (and we have better senators).
