For First Time, Gallup Finds Majority Support For Pot Legalization | Talking Points Memo

Consider it the latest sign that America is officially “420 friendly.”

Gallup released findings on Tuesday indicating that for the first time a clear majority of the public now supports marijuana legalization. Fifty-eight percent of Americans said they favor legalization, up big from the early 2000s when support hovered around 30 percent. It marks an even larger spike since 1969, when Gallup first polled the question and found only 12 percent support legalization.
