Last weekend I was visiting my folks where my dad had Lou Dobbs on the TV. Lo and behold there was Matt Whitaker seated across from Dobbs who was mumbling some dementia addled thought about the deep state. I was oh yeah that guy, the AG who served in what was measured in Mooch units.

I know Trump voters are unreachable, but you still have to think they can see that this level of turnover is unhealthy and abnormal. If this happened at any of our jobs, the workplace would be a disaster. Or comparing to the NFL, this would be way more dysfunctional than even the Browns or the Raiders… It would be like replacing the head coach and GM multiple times per season.

We keep getting further and further away from Senate confirmations and appointments of qualified individuals in terms of actual relevant experience and watching more and more as the “Executive” appoints unqualified “acting” officials and chafes at any restrictions on his ability to pick his buddies for posts they know nothing about. Remember the early days when everyone was talking about how it would be ok because Trump surely would rely on experienced government experts.
We underestimated the “smartest man in the room” and how incredibly dense and stupid he really is. Not to mention how dangerous!

I don’t think we underestimated Trump, I think we did underestimate the Republicans and willingness to coddle the demented man in the White House. Oh McTurtle was getting what he wanted, but now Graham and all the rest of the Republicans up for re-election have got to be scared. They all will have to face the questions of their constituents that the press won’t raise.

I think we all expected a dismal personal performance, but I think the full degree of his narcissism and inability to learn was not understood until it was seen in action. And I think many thought that he’d get bored and pass work off to others - qualified others.
