Flynn Asks Appeals Court To Intervene As Judge Delays Dismissing Case | Talking Points Memo

Michael Flynn asked an appeals court on Tuesday to intervene in his case, and to take the case away from the district court judge who, so far, has resisted the Justice Department request that its prosecution against Flynn be dismissed.

Flynn’s gotta be bankrupt by now with all these legal fees, right? Or am I missing the sugar daddy who is footing the bills? Russia, are you listening?

They should intervene to hold him in contempt, and sentence him to the maximum possible sentence for his guilty pleas and contempt citation.

$10 says he magically gets assigned Rao and Katsas to his panel…or some other combination of Trump-friendly Federalist Society fascists who can rule in his favor 2-1.

And in the Obamagate side of the Flynn story, the Susan Rice email that Chump and Comp. thinks was going to be so decisive…it seems Obama just said he wanted it all done by the book. ??? Not damning at all, when you consider Chump never spoke to his law enforcement or intelligence folks without demanding that they bend all the rules, let people off the hook, and terrorize his perceived political opponents.

Oh, and if I am reading this righ…the part the Chump folks had previously redacted was the part that Obama said “do it by the book”. These guys don’t miss a trick.

Sounds like a perfect case for Merrick Garland.

Prosecutors asked the court to dismiss it. They can’t order it. That’s what judges do after considering the request. And just like Santa Claus and the Rolling Stones, you don’t always get what you want. Which part of that is unclear?

Just one well placed lightning bolt. Is that so much to ask for?

Come on, folks. Flynn just wants to go back to work…, at the White House…

There’s really nothing about Flynn that is appealing.

Sydney Powell is too clever by half.

Powell mentions Sullivan’s order to Gleeson to consider whether he should hold Flynn in contempt for his sworn lies, both before this court and to other official proceedings. But she doesn’t argue against it.

Not only is this petition premature (because the action it complains about — appointing an amicus — is something uncontroversial, something Powell is on the record aggressively defending). But because Sullivan included perjury in his order, it makes his order far less reviewable. What court, at any level, is going to hold that a judge has no recourse when someone lies under oath in his court?

Probably the same sugar daddy(s) that paid off Kavanaugh’s debts and funds the Federalist.

Lawyers gotta file. I don’t think an appeals court would ever rule before they actually have something to rule on. The lower court is working on it, at a reasonable speed, and in a manner for which they’ve laid out reasonable justifications. Such moves are not necessarily made to get a result, but as fodder for future filings. Lawyers gotta file. That’s how they get paid. If Flynn committed perjury, he should pay the price no matter what the justice department/Barr believe. In our system, lying under oath isn’t acceptable.

Wasn’t there a time when an honorable general would stick a gun in his mouth rather than dishonor himself?

Better times…

Honestly, terrible comic. Implies that “she” did ten times more bad stuff than Flynn.

I’ve never seen so much legal maneuvering around a goddamn guilty plea already given and accepted.

Not and attorney but my street sense tells me this is a WRONG course of action MIchael Flynn.I can imagine Judge Sullivan went for a walk after hearing this reasoning and saying to himself WTF is this idiot thinking about. he wants to get “moi” off the case.
