Flurry Of Unusual New Developments In Trump Hush Money Trial - TPM – Talking Points Memo

Agree. Psychologically this is bad for his ego and will accelerate his psychosis. In the meantime his biggest calling card is his dominance, particularly with the moron MAGA’s. He looks weak in Court. That will eventually erode his appeal with many of these supporters. He may also be physically unable to spend 4 days a week in Court for months on end. As you say, the longer this drags on, the worse he looks.

I don’t know if people are really lying. The note about some juror having ripped down some poster in 1990… That was 34 years ago. People rarely think about their own lives through the lens of a defense attorney.

If they even recollected their actions, they may have not pieced together that their actions in the political realm biased their opinion of whether Trump committed a crime in campaign finance.

Prosecutor Joshua Steinglass said that several social media posts Trump had made about Michael Cohen had crossed the line, and added that another post — in which Trump quoted Fox News host Jesse Watters as accusing “liberal activists” of trying to sneak onto the jury — was “disturbing.”

Trumpnutosphere: Librulz are trying to sneak on to the jury!

That juror had told the court that neither himself nor anyone close to him had faced criminal charges or investigation. But Steinglass said that prosecutors had identified an article from the 1990s in which a person with the same name as the juror had been arrested “in Westchester for tearing down political advertisements.”

Oh, look. Here’s someone trying to sneak on to the jury. Anyone want to give me odds on that (soon-to-be-ex-)juror’s political leanings?

Edit: So reports apparently indicate that this particular yeet-juror had been ripping down right-end-of-spectrum political messages, so I’d lose that bet.

Which means that the Biden DOJ is so devious and underhanded that now they and their New York puppet prosecutors are removing their own (presumptive) supporters from the jury in order to … uh … give me a minute … well whatever it is, they’re up to no good, I can tell you that much.

The word “decompensation” has both a mental and physical definition. They often occur simultaneously.
We are watching TFG die.

It’s highly unusual to lose two jurors like this. I’ve never heard of somebody coming back in and saying she can’t be impartial after all. And as much as we all hate trump, DO NOT TALK TO ANY POTENTIAL JURY MEMBERS ABOUT THE CASE BECAUSE IT ONLY BENEFITS trump.

“Oops, me getting arrested and my wife going into a pretrial diversion program both totally slipped my mind” is not remotely credible.

We knew he’d cause as much chaos as possible. But I’m really curious to see whether this only trick of his will actually help him at all anymore. Because if he’s banking on another Jan. 6-style uprising when he’s hauled off for contempt…

The takeover of the GOP by the Trump criminal organization looks exactly like a classic hostile takeover of a company by a 1980s-vintage corporate raider.

And precious few people have the spine to tell the losers in their lives to “fuck off.” It’s called boundaries, a concept we sorely lack in this country.

The judge needs to make an example of Jesse Watters and lock him up for jury tampering, pour encourager les autres.

Otherwise it’s going to be open season on the jurors during this trial and we’ll have to start all over again after they’ve all in desperation disqualified themselves.

NYC is not Jesusland. They can’t be allowed to get away with the kind of intimidation crap that happens there to keep Gooper politicians in line.

Being on this jury would be like being one of the fleeing prisoners in “The Great Escape.” There will be an army of RW keyboard commandos scouring the internet to doxx, swatt, and threaten you and your family. The ordinary measures for preserving anonymity will not be sufficient.

From the NYT liveblog, the downside of a NYC jury pool where so many may be lawyers or work in the legal profession:

The first potential juror that is being questioned this morning says she has previously worked as a law clerk and has discussed the legal merits of this case with many of her coworkers. Justice Merchan asks if that would influence her if she’s chosen for the jury. She paused before saying she could be fair, but then added: “It is hard to unring a bell.”

So the Republican funding problems are almost over? The way this trial is shaping up, TSF will be paying them to use his image by the time they get to calling witnesses!

Trump Inc has been little more than a branding business for decades so this is nothing personal, just business. The man never understood what it meant to be POTUS in any case and that hasn’t changed either.
