DeSantis can’t fire a Florida Judge. Separation of powers. He may also have to live with this finding.
If the Florida Supreme Court finds Plan A to be THE plan, the SCOTUS would really open a can of worms by over-ruling a state Supreme court. Consider how the New York legislature or the California legislature would react. The GOP could lose 20 seats in the House if blue state legislatures are given any license to gerrymander their states in the manner that DeSantis wants to implement in Florida. You could imagine ZERO GOP representation in the Congress from the top 10 blue states if done right.

What I am saying is if the SCOTUS tells DeSantus to ignore his Supreme Court, the NY State Legislature will have no hesitation in telling Judge McAllister to pound sand. The door swings both ways.
