Yeah, that’s right after someone says, “This might make it harder for colored folks to vote,” and someone else says, “I sure hope so!” More gales of laughter.

I’m wondering why they haven’t added “that anyone who agrees to hold a position in line for someone else to use the restroom, or get food will be a criminal offense”.

Followed by, “Can we put gators on the walkway from the parking lot to the polling station?”

‘Everybody Shouldn’t Be Voting,’ Republican Blurts Out (nymag.com)

There’s a fundamental difference between Democrats and Republicans,” he told CNN. “Democrats value as many people as possible voting, and they’re willing to risk fraud. Republicans are more concerned about fraud, so we don’t mind putting security measures in that won’t let everybody vote — but everybody shouldn’t be voting … Not everybody wants to vote, and if somebody is uninterested in voting, that probably means that they’re totally uninformed on the issues. Quantity is important, but we have to look at the quality of votes, as well.”

Just call him Wrong DeSantis, saves time and is good for all circumstances.

“I’m literally befuddled as to why we would tweak a system that performed exceedingly well,” Brian Corley, a Republican…

No true Republican would find this befuddling. A Soros plant?

But also – can one be only metaphorically befuddled?

"I’m literally befuddled as to why we would tweak a system that performed exceedingly well”

Are you? Are you really? If so, you’re too goddamned stupid to live.

He’s absolutely right. We should only allow people who actually know what the issues are to vote. That would immediately eliminate half of the congress and 95% of all FOX viewers in the nation.

Or just stupid enough to be a Florida Republican? Clearly, he didn’t know to turn that around:

“Because the system performed exceedingly well, we must tweak it.”

Arizona Republican explains he’s backing voter suppression to preserve the ‘quality’ of votes

State Rep. John Kavanagh, the chair of the Government and Elections Committee that recently advanced the bill clearing the way for purges of the permanent early voting roll, explained why he thinks people should have to jump through a series of hoops to vote.

“Not everybody wants to vote, and if somebody is uninterested in voting, that probably means that they’re totally uninformed on the issues,” Kavanagh said. “Quantity is important, but we have to look at the quality of votes, as well.

In their minds they are working for the American People (voters). And those people are white, land owning men, just like the Founders intended.

True, but doing that lacked the required impact.

Think about it - the entire time they’re in front of a microphone the battle that must be going on inside their heads - how hard it is to not “accidentally” bust out things like ‘mud races’.

Can’t expect a whole lot of clever improvisation in that kind of situation.

How do votes have quality? I’ve wanted to ask him this since I read this yesterday. I know what he really means but what a stupid way to say it.

A vote is a vote is a vote - they have no qualities other than some are for one candidate and some are for the other and you don’t think votes that aren’t for your candidate should be counted.

“But now, with DeSantis’ encouragement, the legislature is moving forward with a bill that makes drastic changes to Florida’s mail voting procedures,“

At this time I am reminded of a wise old saying:

IF IT AIN’T BROKE, DON’T FIX IT!!!

I’m literally befuddled as to why we would tweak a system that performed exceedingly well,” Brian Corley, a Republican who is the elections supervisor in Pasco County, said in a statement.

Hello…try being honest…if you are befuddled pay attention to what else your hapless governor is doing and be careful…you may end up being harrassed like some of those in the FL scientific scientific community …
