Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill into law on Wednesday expanding statewide prosecutors’ jurisdiction and making it easier for his sham election crimes police force to prosecute voters. Democratic lawmakers and activists say it’ll also have a chilling effect on voting rights.
Fox bots were all in on the stolen election stuff until they weren’t and that includes Rupert. Dominion Voter Systems are going after their sorry asses to the tune of $1.6 billion.
Dominion’s goal, aside from convincing a jury that Fox knowingly spread lies, is to build a case that points straight to the top of the Fox media empire and its founding family: the Murdochs.
“Fox knew,” the Dominion filing declares. “From the top down, Fox knew.”
“Voting rights in this state overall have taken a nosedive,” she told TPM. “We’re headed backwards instead of forward, limiting access instead of expanding access. It’s all to please this governor.”
She also accused DeSantis of using the legislative process to advance his own political ambitions.
“This is no different from anything else that doesn’t go his way,” she said. “It’s all about him having his own way.”
I don’t agree with the GOP strong-arm tactics, but it’s not ALL about DeSantis getting his way…the GOP in the state obviously agrees with him and is endorsing, as well as enabling, him. DeSantis is just the “head of the state party” – he doesn’t seem to be (or needs to be) twisting anybody’s arm. Sadly
Because the ones committing voter fraud aren’t former felons, and have the money to pay off having to do community service.
But when we talk about the two cases the people in Villages casting more than one ballot vs a person who was told that they were eligible vote…who gets the harsher penalty?
( am I misremembering that at least one of the folks that DeSantis had arrested only registered and didn’t even cast a vote?)
Exactly. DeSantis is a clown. He acts like he thinks his victimhood bull crap will play nationally. That’s all he’s got, anti-woke enough to make us choke.
Poor guy, he might actually believe this stuff. More likely, though, he’s being instructed all the way by “consultants” from the dark money side. He and his are guaranteed members of the gravy train. All he has to do is play along and pander. Great role model, too.
Hypothesis: Since the Florida Democratic Party often does such a bang-up job of torpedoing itself, the dark money interests and string-pullers have found it to be in their best interest to leave them right where they are.
