Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried (D) on Tuesday torched Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) after she announced her defiance of the governor’s order for flags to be lowered at half-staff in honor of notoriously racist radio host Rush Limbaugh, who died from lung cancer at age 70 last week.
She’s good, and without a doubt will be running for Governor in the next election. It doesn’t hurt to get a few headlines when you can, and also, she’s right about the scumbag Limbaugh. Good riddance.
Good for her! Limbaugh was a sexist, racist, bigoted piece of garbage who whenever he was caught out insisted he was just an ‘entertainer’ and where was that vaunted Democratic compassion for people like him. He does not deserve a single accolade.
Limbaugh is just another yellow Republican draft dodging POS who talks like a man and lives the life of a coward.
I am not blaming anyone who chose not to serve during the Vietnam War except Repubs who acted , in many cases, that only Dems did not serve.
Republicans have tarnished some of the highest honors this nation has to offer for partisan political purposes, and it’s a disgrace.
From the abuse of various Presidential Medals to the lowering of the flag, to not appropriately honoring President Obama, not to even mention the Pardon process Trump abused, which is of a similar vein.
Once you tarnish these awards, I really don’t know if you can untarnish them. And De Santis is probably the most Trump-like Governor in the country, which means watch out below, Florida.
State protocol dictates that the lowering of flags is to honor fallen heroes who have served the country and the state.
Anybody know state protocol for draft-dodging anal cysts?
(And let me take this opportunity to condemn – in the strongest possible terms – @sniffit’s suggestion involving a horny chihuahua and the cochlear-implant hole in Rush Limbaugh’s head. There is simply no place at TPM for that sort of animal cruelty.)
The “bend over backwards” term is a subtle dig at Limbaugh. He used to constantly use the term “bend over and grab their ankles” when referring to some folks perceived to be soft or wimpy. Like much of his stick it’s also a homophobic dig. Well played agriculture commissioner.
Oh, I don’t know – I could see saving up a gallon of “accolade,” and pouring it on his grave. Maybe I’d add to it, if I drink enough beer before visiting said grave.
