Unless you’re a middle-aged white male, you need to vote as if your life depended on it. Actually, I am a middle-aged white male and I think my life depends on it so…just vote.
I’d say 1860.
Biggest failure was to respond as we did.
Succession should have been wet with… “Buh-bye”
And take every refugee, hold the west.
On a related note… New England would make a fine Country
I know this story just broke, but have there been local ads in Florida along the lines of “your state rep won’t respect your wishes on a referendum, why do you think he will represent you on anything else. He’s in thrall to special interests, throw him out”
The initiative passed by a wide margin, any hope of electing some more dems at the state level due to the state GOP spitting in the electorate’s faces?
Maybe. Fuck NH and Maine though. NH is full of white Christo-fascists and Maine thinks being contrarian is the same as being independent.
All our lives, are at stake. The American experiment is at stake.
The world is at stake
“At stake” implies it’s not over already. Trust me…it’s over. It doesn’t matter who wins now. They’ve pushed it too far. Even if Biden wins, we’re going to witness batshit crazy in our streets and an organized, already-planned response from GOP controlled areas of the country to prevent any governance by Biden and the Dems and to refuse to obey or in any way accede to federal law. They will attempt real secession or at least the functional equivalent and they will turn to Trump appointed Federalist Society fucktards planted into our judicial system to get the rulings they need to pretend like Dem governance just doesn’t count, ever. I truly can’t wait to watch one of them enact state legislation declaring federal taxes off limits to their citizens.
We should have definitely rounded up all the scofflaws who seceded and hung them in one long gallows in front of the US Capitol. That includes, Jefferson Davis, Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee and all the rest.
Lincoln and Grant let the South off way too lightly. The Reconstruction was a huge failure. Grant should have kept Tecumseh Sherman locked and loaded, and told the Southern states there were all US territories and could only rejoin the Union after meeting a strict set of conditions in compliance with the 14th Amendment. Sherman should have had the authority to burn everything to the ground if the territories got out of line. He did a pretty good job the first time they let him off the leash.
Careful there, if you break the string all the pearls will fall onto the ground and it’ll be a pain finding them all.
Seriously dude, you need to get a grip. You’ve been preaching violence and dramatically declaring “it’s all over” for quite a while now. This isn’t helping fix things and can’t be good for your mental health or those around you.
(For everyone else, if you need help with setting up “Ignore” on a particular poster just let me know and I’ll repost them or send as a private message…)
They needed to be kept under military occupation and ironfisted rule for a couple decades, while being punished by not being permitted to participate in their own governance, while the rules were rewritten to prevent them from ever taking control of the federal gov’t.
And, frankly, all that does is highlight how unworkable it all was and is. We freed the slaves, should’ve taken them all in and told the South to go fuck itself and figure out how to run an economy without the rest of us. It’s what we should be doing after they steal this election or if they continue to resist any form of governance that permits Dem participation. we should leave. Without NY, CA, MA and other centers of the economy and industry, places like Mississippi would be a 3rd world shithole in no time. It’s already damn close to one already…
Haha, I’m a masshole through and through but reside in NH these days. Its wacky for sure, but religious, less so.
Besides every country needs assholes
I hope they go with election interference. Because then they’ll have to admit the State of Florida put an illegal poll tax in place
Huh…I guess I’ve had an outlier experience with NH then. Still, NH and ME infuriate me. It’s almost like they try hard to do whatever MA isn’t doing because that somehow asserts their independence.
A federal judge partially blocked the law last year and in May, after a trial this spring, deemed the law unconstitutional. Using an uncommon procedural move, the state fast-tracked the case to the full 11th U.S. Court of Appeals — skipping the three judge panel that had largely backed the trial judge’s handling of the case. The full 11th Circuit, by a majority made up almost entirely of Trump appointees, formally reversed the trial judge’s ruling,
What the actual fuck? Keep this story bookmarked for when their panties all get in a bunch when we begin expanding these courts to dilute the bullshit packed in there by an illegally (s)elected Prez Shithead and his senate fuckwads.
The desperation of Republicans in Florida to keep people from voting makes it clear that they know if the people are actually allowed to vote the way they want then Republicans will end up on the losing end. It’s clear in all the roadblocks they are placing to allow the will of the people, which is that ex-felons be allowed to vote, to go forward, including this BS of not telling people how much they owe and now blocking any payment for them. The courts, via Trump appointees, really failed the people of Florida on this one…sadly we may see more of that in the near future.
They will figure out a way to charge Bloomberg, or the people having their debts paid, with some random crime…there will be no merit to the charges, it will just be another way to use fear to keep people from voting. I’m hoping that people in Florida are finally understanding, and are willing to say enough to all this crap and vote hard in the next couple elections to remove Republicans from office statewide.
Other than the religion thing, you have it pegged.
Besides if we are going to shit on any NE state it is obviously Connecticut. Whenever you want to drive out of NE you have to drive corner to corner of that bullshit state. Hartford has had the same construction for decades… Even Nutmeg is overplayed
True, and taking 90 out to 84 and/or 91 is a bitch.
The only time Shithead tells the truth is when he does so by accident. While I’m sure he thinks he can steal this election, too, he’s wrong. Very, very wrong.
Ugh, too many times.
RI is marginally better

Trump didn’t get his inauguration crowd, he wants a big show he’s egging it on
