At one point, officer Aquilino Gonell of the Capitol Police, when asked by Rep. Cheney about Trump’s remarks that it was a “loving crowd,” said: “if that was hugs and kisses, then we should all go to his house and do the same thing to him.”
Gonell later apologized for the remark.
Why did Ofc Gonell apologize for speaking truthfully?

That officer wasn’t the “criminal” – little “Ashli” was the criminal. That officer deserves a medal. Babbitt deserves obscurity.

There was certainly coordination between trump’s minions and members of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers. Trump met with them and members of Congress on the eve of the insurrection. Somebody at that meeting is going to spill his or her guts to stay out of prison. It will all come out eventually.

Just happened to have recently watched a video of John Prine singing at a small venue with other artists in the audience. Gordon Lightfoot was there and John had him in tears.

Obviously, not the best solution for the country, but he knew how to protect John Boehner from the Trumpites. Paul Ryan did it too, to a lesser extent, but he seemed to think he could still ride the wave of Freedom Caucus nonsense and still steer the party. Eventually, he gave up as well, but McCarthy clearly doesn’t know how to direct a one-car funeral when the funeral parlor is connected to the church.

So he can denounce it as a partisan witch hunt by the Dems and a couple of Pelosi Republicans.
