Five Points On What The Senate’s Insurrection Report Hit And What It Missed | Talking Points Memo

The bipartisan Senate report on the intelligence and law enforcement failures that led to Jan. 6 leaves key questions about the Capitol insurrection unanswered, while highlighting the lack of preparation that preceded the attack.

Which pretty much invalidates the entire “report”.

Any report that doesn’t delve deeply into the delay in the NG response is worthless.

The reasons for the delay, who wanted it delayed vs. who wanted to move out, all of that is the key that unlocks everything.

This report is your steaming heap of million dollar meaningless bullshit for the day.

But, but how does Joe Manchin feel about this report even calling the insurrection an attack? We are so fucked if this compromised bullshit report is as deep as we get into how the dotard called these idiots to the Capitol specifically to stop the certification of the electoral votes. He set loose his dogs to invade the Capitol of the United States of America but no one dare even call it insurrection for fear of angering the GOPers. So, so disheartening.

Donald Trump left the Capitol of the United States defenseless.

So help me God

You could not possibly call it an insurrection when the groups planning to attend — “Proud
Boys, Oath Keepers, and Stop the Steal” — are referred to as “Patriot Organizations.”

That makes the report your steaming heap of million dollar meaningless bullshit2 for the day. (h/t @birdford)

Well, other than reading the President’s Twitter account…

Doesn’t use the word “insurrection” in a report on insurrection. Does use the word “intelligence” when the issue is mostly ignorance and stupidity. Must have been the Portman edits.

So is the underlying evidence part of a public record, or swept under the rug?

This report highlights exactly why “bipartisan” isn’t an option for this kind of investigation.

Looks like anybody in a position of authority in the DOD, CP, and the various intelligence agencies during this insurrection needs to be looking for work.

As for the “report,” it’s as worthless as used toilet paper.

Hey TPM, how about Five Points on the unredacted Mueller Report release?

lack of willingness on the part of the Pentagon to commit troops for use against civilians after widespread criticism

This raises the same questions raised by police in the Rump-publican era: how to to hold these public servants the least bit accountable, without turning them into deliberate tools who slow walk every task that comes their way until their arses are once more kissed like how they’ve grown to feel entitled.

The answer is leadership and the solution is to throw Rump-publicans out. Everywhere and always.

So why did Dems. agree to it and sign off on the language?

I imagine most criminals would love to be able to negotiate the language on their police reports.

Guess they don’t read the Washington Post…

There are many things deep in the human psyche that we’re missing, because they are unconscious and when not, are denied. Physical and emotional dominance are our tools to power, while art, music, love and caring for one another and gratitude for our worldy abundace are often misinterpreted and not widely appreciated enough for balance and future planning.

Looking at this “trend” around the world, and how ignorant as humans we are to our motives, we’re thus on track to make the earth uninhabitable for most species. It’s unchecked growth and manufactured in fighting until the energy supply runs out. Science, truth, cooperation for the greater good is currently in eclipse.
