Gosh, just wondering whether if the 10 Commandments had been posted in Mr. Gonzales’ grade-school classroom things could have played out differently….
What happens if he wins the primary, then resigns. Do they need to redo the vote for the GQP have to hold another primary election with the remaining candidates? Or could he set his resignation as the end of his term, and keep running for the office to “let the people decide” whether to return him to office.
(It’s been a really bad day and my mind has wandered in weird directions)
News reports today say that Gonzales is refusing to resign. Mike Johnson is giving him political cover by saying that it up to Gonzales to address the issue with his constituents. Last November he flat out denied that he had an affair with this staff person.
Gonzales is a family man with six children.
