Until two minutes before Montana’s 5 p.m. filing deadline, Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) was running to keep his seat. He’d filed for reelection in late February, had $4.9 million stashed in his war chest. Six minutes before Daines withdrew on Wednesday evening, Montana U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme, who has never run for anything, filed his…
“His arm had broken.”
It’s a real passive voice mystery.
All politics is loco.
Just another tool in the voter suppression toolkit.
So are the independent Bodner and the unnamed Dem actually qualified to run? Seems extremely shady if not.
It is an NYT headline.
Sheehy really showcasing the dignity of the Senate there.
A Republican trying to deceive voters?? Knock me over with a feather…….
Another bonus for Sheehy: He is currently shouting that he did too get that bullet in his arm in Afghanistan! Actually, he probably shot himself by accident while in Glacier Nat’l Park in 2015, not in Afghanistan in 2012. Does he really think the ER in Kalispell can’t tell the difference between a bullet that’s been his arm for 3 years and one that arrived there today? A Park Ranger was dispatched to the ER following up on an illegal gunshot reported in the park.
He’d like us to believe that during a fight in Afghanistan one of his brothers-in-arms -oops- shot him in the arm during a night action, but he didn’t tell anyone or seek treatment because he’s such a manly man who a) didn’t want to get someone in trouble and b) why bother the medics when he could just take care of it himself? This incident seems to have been a well kept secret, even from his unit, until he wrote about it in his book a few years ago. So that bullet has been there ever since, but he tripped and fell in Glacier while hiking, his gun fell out of the holster and went off, but he bumped the lodged bullet and needed to seek medical treatment at the ER. I guess that stray bullet is stuck in a tree in Glacier? BTW, our military uses 9mm bullets while the personal gun he took with him into Glacier was a .45. I’ll bet the one in his arm was a .45.
Montana, I think this says a lot about the character of this arm-breaker that represents you in the Senate. Stolen Valor is not a good look.
So Steve Daines, the Moscow Mule who sent out tweets that suggested he was still in America the whole time and then slipped onto an early flight so he could be seen on the Fourth of July, finally leaving.
