If the American people elect him then by all means he should do that. Lets not fool ourselves about each other. Everyone knows who Trump is and what’s he’s capable of. The Florida Cubans know who he is. They know he’s going to continue a Cuba policy that has failed for 60 years and they voted for it. So fuck them. Apparently the Venezuelan population in SoFla voted Trump too. Within 6 months the USA will launch an all out war in Venezuela that will kill 1000’s of civilians. But they voted for it so let their relatives die. The White Working Class got nothing but fucked by Trump and voted for him again. So I do hope Trump keeps up the fucking. Coal miners voted for him again. Seems our “salt of the land” farmers prefer welfare bucks than selling soybeans. Let them have them until the money runs out. But the biggest self fuck is America fucking America. This election will seal America’s place in the world as a pariah and erode it’s leadership role. The EU will turn to itself and much of the world will look for another axis. Russia and China are ready.
His only chance is in Pennsylvania. Right now that’s not looking good.
The Biden campaign had been warning for days not to believe the polls, They warned that it was much closer than it appeared. How much of it was to spark donations we may never know, but the pollsters who predicted a blue wave are going to have some explaining to do - unless the final tally is showing we are looking at a red mirage.
Onion Nailed it
It’s fucking stunning to me that, hands down, the worst president in American history can even seem to be competitive. What 65,000,000+ Americans see to vote for in this POS, who is directly responsible for making this country the example of the world’s worst response to this pandemic and the economic catastrophe it has wrought, is beyond my ability to comprehend.
I read that in 2020, 40% of all farm income was a result of direct government aid.
If you Google other sources, some will explain the small farmers have not been helped as much as the big farms and foreign owners. Farm bankruptcies are still growing and will continue to do so.
Even believing that Biden will win, I feel queasy.
However it turns out, whatever happens, more people showed up to vote for Trump this time than last time.
That it’s even anywhere near close tells me something about my fellow Americans that I sure don’t want to know. My partner and I said in 2016 that if Trump won we’d leave the country, and in October of last year we did. I’m more glad of it than ever this morning.
America is going in a bad, dangerous, unthinkable direction.
Before I go to work for the day:
1 - I remain entrenched in my belief that polling is a dead art in this country. Please, please, please, can we put to rest that any pollster knows what the hell they’re doing?
2 - America, as a Republic, is dead. There is no more Republic. We will live as a totalitarian State for the long-term. We’re never gonna get rid of this guy. Trump, McConnell… they’ve both got what’s left of this country by the short hairs and they’re not letting go.
I heard last night that McConnell and Trump took Kentucky and had a pretty bad feeling about this all night. If the American people, who’ve lost 225.000 loved ones unnecessarily to a pandemic alone, can’t see the toxicity of this, then it’s all for naught, folks.
Going to work and without any hope for this country. Be well.
That is, I’m convinced, the Achilles heel of the Left. Most of us tend to believe people are by nature capable of empathy and good will. Nope.
The Civil War never really ended, and now the current version of the Confederacy might just win. What then?
Don’t give up all hope yet! If VP Biden wins and the Dems do retake the Senate, as other commenters have pointed out, all progressive legislation and court reform are dead. However, a President Biden could still save the Executive branch and major federal agencies. That is not a small thing. 4 more years of a Trump administration would mean that the Executive branch would be corrupted almost beyond repair. Although it seems like the ‘Will o’ the Wisp’, I think a ‘Blue Texas’ is America’s best hope for delivery.
Thanks Faux News
Now a completely tribal country Racists and Stupids VS Everyone else
America:
Too stupid for Democracy . We proved it again
PS
Electoral College has to go
You’ve forgotten to mention the right wing SCOTUS, where every GOP operative that has legs will run whenever Pres Joe gets anything through the Congress.
And where is this Blue Texas you mention? Seems to me every map I’ve seen still has them as red.
Trumpism is the greatest danger to the US, and by extension, the world at large. The world will survive by increasingly ignoring the US. If we do not reduce Trumpism significantly, we will not be the “leader of the free world”.
It’s aspirational! But, as California has shown, it is not out of the realm of possibility.
Don’t jump to conclusions about PA. A significant portion of the votes has yet to be tallied, and it’s pro-Biden.
I don’t think the EC has a whole lot of bearing on the subject. Yeah, I know - Biden is leading by a scant two million votes. But those votes were probably gained in States that were already blue. Like I said earlier this week - this is our biggest problem: our votes are centralized in just a few States. The GOP is insidious. It’s everywhere - even in the purple States - and it still has a whole lot of influence.
It’s time we start re-examining the Democratic party (if there’s one left after this election) and start with some stronger leadership at the top (e.g., Perez has gotta go). It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if the Trump administration puts forth an EO substantially deciding that the Dems are no longer a party, wiping us off the map.
After this election, which was so clear and had so much money, we would deserve it.
And before everyone climbs on me for being negative, fine - you give me another scenario for what just happened here.
And, by the way, it looks like Wisconsin will go blue, so I’ve done all I can.
By the way - anyone projecting a huge drop in the financial markets today - they took an increase on the projected Biden win earlier in this week, so I’m wondering if that goes away.
A question for anybody here: the unallocated vote in Maine–it is listed as not determined yet. What gives? That is a crucial 1 ev. Catch me up, please.
