This article is part of TPM Cafe, TPM’s home for opinion and news analysis. Each December, the New York Young Republican Club’s gala offers a preview of the next season’s conservative provocations. Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene spoke at the gala near the peak of her stardom in 2021; in the audience was another up-and-coming shit-stirrer, the…

Streaming is easy. Operating a government is hard work. Most of these clowns are not interested in the hard work part. That’s why so many of their “plans” are so poorly executed. It’s really easy to say, “let’s get rid of the brown people.” It’s much more difficult to actually do it inb a way that doesn’t result in say, innocent people getting killed and political blowback.

  • Filter on, fear gone
  • Soft smile, strong WiFi
  • My vibe is pre-edited
  • Born to brand
  • Swipe with pride
  • Selfie mode always
  • Proof I went outside

Yeah. “I’m not a hater. But I am a racist.” …

Okay, so…brainless and a liar then. …

I’d be less worried about this if I weren’t in a country that elected Trump to the presidency twice and almost a third time.

Streamers did not set the republican agenda the parasitic rich in collusion with the Heritage foundation set the republican agenda. Add to that the fact that our president is compromised by Russia, Israel and Saudi Arabia.

Is it worse if these–I hesitate to call them people–actually do believe the bile they spew, or if they do not? Is there a difference? They’re uniformly awful.

It’s all buzz words to get clicks. I’m not saying those that are saying this crap don’t believe it, but saying this crap gets them attention. You know just the current resident of the WH.

You mean like a whole generation that can’t, or won’t, distinguish between fact and fiction?

The MSM media lets them off the hook every time. Simply repeat “How?” after every one of their talking points, and they collapse. But the clowns who pass as journalists are nothing more than props for billionaires to use as “proof” we still have a free press.

Lately have seen a rash of shallow documentaries and pieces on this burgeoning group of superficial, trivial celebrities and “content” producers - a lot of them out of the so-called manosphere. Trump leads them all in trashy, venal “content”. These cretins get way too much attention - I trace the end of our culture straight back to the start of FOX news and reality TV. Except for a few bright spots, it seems like it has all been downhill from there.

I know my now 20-year-old grandson only gets his news on line. Last year, he admitted it was solely from Tik-Tok. Don’t know what’s happening now, as then he wasn’t in the working world and now he is.

“One of the main things we’ve been finding over the past few years is younger people feeling alienated from news because they find it difficult to understand,” Robertson told TPM. “Online creators and influencers are good translators of information. They make information easier to understand for people who are the same age as them.”

Young male adults who feel alienated and find a newscast “too difficult to understand.” A generation of unsocialized, insecure, ignorant, celibate gamers. They are America’s future.

We live in the stupidest, most vile culture.

Natural selection is going to come for that guy.

It is also why they win!!!

It’s called POLITICS!!!

The problem with democracy is about 40% of the citizens in any nation are in fact deplorable.

The problem until recently was mitigated because the deplorables were somewhat split between Parties. For example in America, there was a time when the racists were Democrats and the crony capitalists were Republicans.

The problem today is that ruthless cynical politicians have figured out how to unite the deplorables in a single Party.

Another problem with democracy is at least 20% are low information or otherwise don’t much care. To the extent they do care or to the extent they do receive information, it is usually short 30 second ads or comments that catch their attention. Furthermore, you catch their attention through short and direct appeals to hate, fear, patriotism, and SHOCK. You do not get their attention through mild appeals to morality or discussions of the rule of law and the constitution.

Or to summarize, 40% of any nation are decent people, 40% are deplorable and 20% mostly don’t know or don’t care. So where the split in Parties, as it certainly is in America, is between decent people and deporables, the winner is who is better at getting the votes of those who otherwise don’t want to be bothered.

Like it or not, the main reason Republicans win and Trump is president is Republicans are just way better at politics than Democrats at winning over low information voters. Democrats are better at policy which is why when Democrats take office from Republicans it is mostly when times are bad and when Republicans take office from Democrats it is mostly when times are good.
