One person who was infected with COVID-19, aka the coronavirus, in Washington state has died, the Washington Department of Health reported on Saturday.
There will likely be more but I’m still hoping this will semi-peter out the way SARS did.
The bad PR is killing Benedict Donald and that is the only ‘death’ I’d prefer here.
Things will get very interesting when Republicans in Congress are all wearing masks while, at the same time, trying to repeat the Trump narrative that coronavirus is really just a hoax. It wont look good.
It is Pence’s fault.

Just noticed President Braindead is blathering live right now. He’s been on for 40 minutes, it seems, just randomly babbling like the jackass he so intensely is.
ETA OK first thought of any substance is that they heard about this death and said oh fuck we can’t minimize this any more, that won’t fly. Can’t conflate it with the common cold like Rush or cry about how the flu is worse be mad at the flu. They know now that people are goddamn concerned and they need to stop the bullshit. Unfortunately I doubt they can manage a real response, but you go to a pandemic with the administration you have, so to speak. Oh btw the risk remains low, says Pence! Until it goes higher.
As I type, Trump is speaking again and spouting self-aggrandizing lies while Pence longingly gazes at him. Color me totally lacking in confidence and appalled.
Adding: Now Pence is speaking and heaping praise on Dear Leader. George Will was right, Pence is a lickspittle.
Great. The IMPOTUS will hem and haw about an imagined 15 cases and how he is doing a fantastic job and that the virus is a hoax perpetrated by the Democrats to unseat him.

We are all in this Dem Hoax together according to Pence.
Donald Doctor Trump could end this virus thing but he does not want to make the CDC look incompetent.
Just yesterday, he called it a hoax. And today, sober reality hits. A person died.
With the benefit of a criminally negligent Senate and a corrupt Attorney General, he was able to sidestep the worst of the Mueller investigation and the consequences of Impeachment, but they will be of no help with this situation. And the Fox propaganda machine will also prove inadequate.
He is so poorly equipped to manage this, which means our best hope is that the virus isn’t overly virulent and that people take preemptive measures on their own. We can have little faith in a Donald Trump and Mike Pence led task force. Probably the two worst people in America to handle a possible pandemic.
