They made him a gift of their greed, their law-breaking, and their outrageous lack of remorse. If the Democrats had prosecuted, it might have gone some way towards curing some people’s disillusionment with politics as usual.
Unfortunately, the Democrats either were compromised themselves or behaved as if they were – and so, as one result, a “Tea Party” was mobilized and we’re still paying the price.
Obama picked Biden partly because of this very delusion.
I would think anyone who could be a good vp would have enough sense to stay away.
