With the grotesque amount of money being dumped into DHS, and the ethics of the grifters involved, this agency is going to be the motherlode of corruption in the next few years. Keep an eye on it.

I recall posting before the 2024 election that trump and his minions were going to steal everything not bolted down if trump got back into the White House. The brazenness and obviousness of their corruption is nonetheless a little shocking to me. It’s a fucking free for all.
They are robbing the country blind while ordinary citizens are still dealing with the rising cost of everything. That this is not all the media talks about is a mystery to me. There sure as hell was a lot of talk prior to the 2024 election about the high price of eggs and how Joe Biden wasn’t using his plenary power as the President (s/) to immediately make them cheaper. Now it’s practically crickets while trumpists are using the public fisc to enrich themselves.

Touché. Rooting out trumpist corruption is going to take decades, assuming that we can achieve stable, non-oligarch controlled leadership long enough to do it. But trump is not forever. Maybe, just maybe, weasels like Gnome will get their day in the docket.

Does corruption even exist anymore? The SCOTUS has made it impossible to prosecute. They will try to shove this scam into the SCOTUS’s recent giant loophole. And anyway, who has standing to prosecute? It’s not going to be the Pam Bondi DOJ.

Complete non sequitur: there is no relationship between the question and the answer; DHS is effectively arguing that adverts the grifty media company produces somehow also polices the border.
This could demonstrate contempt for their audience but the vulgar cupidity of Trumpist cabinet picks like Noem is matched with an equally crass stupidity so nonsense like this might even appear substantive to them, who knows.
There just is no bottom with these people, there really isn’t. I long for the day when they are gone.
