Firm Leading Trump’s Legal Crusade In PA Backs Out Amid Criticism Of Undermining Electoral Process | Talking Points Memo

The law firm leading the Trump campaign’s efforts in Pennsylvania to cast doubts over the integrity of the vote in the state withdrew from a federal lawsuit that it filed for President Donald Trump just days earlier.

I believe its less public pressure and more a signal that they know they have no cases, and are merely going through the motions for $$$ (which may not even be coming).

Public pressure just gives them some cover to withdraw.

Good more of this. End this nonsense and let President- ELECT Biden have a proper transition.

Any law firm has to be aware of its reputation. While lawyers can and should take on controversial clients and causes they are required to act in good faith. Frivolous suits are not really encouraged by the Bench and Bar. Trump is insisting they move forward without law or evidence (the very definition of a frivolous lawsuit) so they have decided to save what is left of their reputation.

It’s over. Within the next week, no one will be actually helping Trump fight this crazy battle. He’ll be alone and abandoned.

Translation: we don’t want to loose our law license.

They had a meeting and decided they had milked that cow for all it was worth. They’re white shoe lawyers.

Many of the greatest people in our history were lawyers, especially the ones who fought and continue to fight for civil rights and justice equality. And most of the worst ones were lawyers also. And it is lawyers (I am thinking of the Federalist Society at the moment), who will ruin us.

The only protection against a bad lawyer is a good lawyer. I send a small monthly donation to the ACLU - if you don’t, and you can afford it, consider it. They will take donations as small as $5 a month.

Public pressure probably helped, but this reads to me like “We told our client we were not going to push the meritless bullshit he wanted, so he can go forward with the junior varsity team instead.”

Follow the money- The firm probably wanted a retainer upfront.

If you think lawyers are some kind of clash of good and evil, just wait until you hear about clients.

“She also speculated that some combination of age, health and the law could catch up with him over the next four years”

And he’s been awfully quiet since the election. If only we had known that making sure everyone saw him as the biggest loser as our best way to shut him up for good four years ago, we could have spared ourselves this entire national nightmare. Bunker Boy hasn’t been seen other than through a long range lens at a golf course and at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier since the election. We don’t even know if he’s still in control of his own twitterfeed anymore, do we? Maybe he took the cyanide capsule. Nah. We can’t be that lucky.

I guess there really are people who realize that when Trump lumbers off into whatever future awaits him, they’ll still be out in the world with marred reputations to mend. If they want to bill for that part of it, they can try, but looks like these folks have decided the whole thing just isn’t worth it.

With the problems looming in Trump’s post-presidency, any other person would choose to be as scarce as possble.

Actually, I would bet on health also. His dad had a long protracted Alzheimer’s end to life, and I am pretty sure when 2024 rolls around Donald is going to be drooling into his KFC bucket.
