Originally published at: Fired DOJ Pardon Attorney: Office Was Never Consulted On Trump’s Jan 6 Pardons - TPM – Talking Points Memo
During a “shadow hearing” before congressional Democrats Monday evening, former U.S. pardon attorney Liz Oyer — who was fired last month in retaliation for her refusal to comply with a Trump-backed order to restore Mel Gibson’s gun rights — testified that her office was never consulted on Trump’s sweeping January 6 pardons. Monday’s hearing, led…
What I am amazed by in yesterday’s SC decisions is the absolute lack of urgency, even while the jackals takes large bites out of “rule of law” daily.
Taken together, the pardons tied to political contributions, the extortion of in-kind pro bono work from law firms, the end run around due process and habeas corpus, the contempt for the judiciary reflected in the administration’s threats to judges and stonewalling in courtrooms, the corruption of having a politicized DOJ abetting the president’s quest for absolute power, and the utter destruction of the Constitution’s checks and balances, SHOULD have the justices unanimously defending the Constitution as if they were confronting an arsonist threatening to burn it completely. And yet…
I assume 1512 is the number of J6 criminals pardoned by the felon.
And don’t forget, you can’t spell felon without E.L.O.N.
“Whoever has experienced the power and the unrestrained ability to humiliate another human being automatically loses his own sensations. Tyranny is a habit, it has its own organic life, it develops finally into a disease. The habit can kill and coarsen the very best man or woman to the level of a beast. Blood and power intoxicate … the return of the human dignity, repentance and regeneration becomes almost impossible.” ― Fyodor Dostoyevsky, The House of the Dead
“Stop trying to make fetch happen”.
“The 1512” is going nowhere, Ed.
When that many people break the law on television, are duly charged, tried, and convicted, you’re not going to be able to re-make them as civil rights martyrs. But, Trump appreciates your efforts.
. On Friday, armed U.S. Marshals were reportedly set to also deliver the message to Oyer in person to warn her against testifying in person.
It’s official, we are now a Banana Republic.
How long before Donnie dons a uniform like this.
I believe 18 U.S. Code § 1512 is the contested statute under which charges were brought against many of the defendants, particularly section 1B: (B) prevent the production of a record, document, or other object, in an official proceeding; … (18 U.S. Code § 1512 - Tampering with a witness, victim, or an informant | U.S. Code | US Law | LII / Legal Information Institute )
Lack of urgency could mean death for those sent to hell in El Salvador. Or ones who may be snatched off the streets. Not as though they haven’t had time to think over these issues that are coming before them.
DonOLD must think that he’ll live forever. And yet here is this old man who who is asking folks younger than him to give him unconstitutional powers. These folks who refuse to obey will still be living when he’s six feet under, well something.
Thank you.
I suspect the administration has already decided that that’s an acceptable price for the deported to pay, even if they were never convicted of anything.
And if it was all for the administration’s public relations and messaging (“Don’t come here!”)
And it’s all on account of the myth of TCF’s business acumen, a myth that he’s spent his whole life fabricating.
Somehow, it survived in the face of notable business failures.
“Martin also compared the prosecution of January 6 defendants to the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II.”
There is definitely no God because if there were he would have lightning-bolted these mofos long ago.
I’m glad Democrats are doing these shadow meetings. I hope it helps, even if it is just on the margins.
They are telling us they can and will fuck us up for no reason and we can do nothing about it.
“Process” and “procedure” are for Democrats and losers – but I repeat myself.
Hasn’t he already commissioned a four mile long (!!) military parade to celebrate his birthday? Perhaps he’s having his dictator uniform made up, even as we type.

“Acceptable”? Heck, that was probably the intended price. Particularly since the maladministration is arguing that it’s somehow “impossible” for the world’s biggest superpower to get any of these people back from a little tin-horn country.
(My apologies to El Salvadorans – I intended to refer to your current leadership, not you.)
Ah, so the FBI’s cryptocurrency enforcement team has been disbanded.
Still waiting for “the intelligence community to go to war with this guy!”
