Just another Marxist RINO. Probably a pedo too. Rona Romney McDaniel needs to write a letter exposing this traitor.

The only answer is a complete dismantling of everything “American”.

I’m going to give the guy props. Even amongst the never-Trumpers and the so called “mainstream” Republicans, one rarely hears anyone accepting responsibility for the current state of politics in the US.

From the Article:

Well, Lee Atwater also came to Jesus, but brain cancer still claimed him at age 40. Today’s abusive politics started with him.

Funny how his regret doesn’t make me feel even a tiny bit better - and I doubt it is doing much for Paul Pelosi either.

Yeah, somehow he couldn’t keep himself from “both-sides-ing” it in the article.

I’m glad he sees the appalling nature of what he started, and that he’s willing to speak publicly about it.

I’m just having a hard time being super-generous about it, and the both-sides-ing strikes a nerve.

Before giving Mr. Heye lots of praise and admiration, read the op-ed to see how he “both-sides” the issue, by referencing the Bernie Sander supporter who shot Steve Scalise at the Congressional baseball practice and saying there was “toxic rhetoric” that influenced that shooter - without providing any examples of what that non-GOP/non-right-wing rhetoric was.

Hint: it didn’t exist. It’s not the same on "both sides’.

He didn’t accept the responsibility. After admitting “Republicans started it” he both-sides the issue instead of accepting personal responsibility for easily predictable long term consequences of his own actions (alongside other Republicans).

It’s a small messaging salve for the GOP. He’s not active…and, for the most part, the GOP “good guys” are not officeholders.

The TPM article didn’t mention the both-sidering. Ah well. Trust no trusted source, etc.

If you read his op ed, you’ll see he blames Dems too in detail.

Like I said, Trust no Trusted Source. TPM reported on the op ed without mentioning the both-siderism. I don’t have time to read his op ed and I foolishly relied on TPM’s article.

The morality, integrity and value of a lower level, former GOP strategist making tepid condemning remarks achieves what?
