Fetterman Calls For Menendez Ouster Feet Away Indicted Senator Appealing To Colleagues

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA), clothed in his much ballyhooed hoodie and shorts, held court with reporters just feet away from where the indicted Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) was appealing to his colleagues to stand with him.

So kind of Sen. Manchin to get out the opposition position. He is a real straight-shooter, that Manchin guy. A real gem. /s

While I agree completely that Senator Menendez is entitled to the presumption of innocence, he sure as hell looks guilty to me.

He and Romney were apparently behind the move to restore the coat and tie rule to the Senate. Wasting the taxpayers’ time and money.

Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) told reporters that Menendez had spoken for roughly an hour. Others added that they were given an opportunity to ask questions, but that no one did.

I mean what questions exist besides “WTF?”

Menendez and McCarthy are two peas in a pod. They both care more about their respective positions then the greater good.

The POS could at least announce he’s not running in '24

But no one came close to matching Fetterman’s ire Thursday, as he impugned Menendez both for a lack of “honor” and for the political peril in which he’s placing his party during an election cycle where so many incumbents are already fighting uphill battles.

Mentioning Montana and Ohio, where Sens. Jon Tester (D-MT) and Sherrod Brown (D-OH) are running for reelection, Fetterman said that Menendez is bringing “baggage” to a situation that’s “already difficult.”

“Now that puts New Jersey in play if he somehow does end up on the ballot,” he said.

If Menendez gave a Jersey rat’s furry ass about his constituents, he wouldn’t even risk their living under a senate – and judicial confirmation process – controlled by McConnell and the crazies

His continued presence as the “Democratic Poster Child” for Republicans (and the press!) gives invaluable aid and comfort to Trump and the ubiquitous Bothsiderists.

I don’t care if he’s innocent as a newborn’s butt, he’s doing incalculable damage to our Nation’s future with every day he selfishly clings to office. For the good of the country – guilty or not – he needs to resign yesterday!

True, but I’d venture to guess M doesn’t give a Jersey rat’s furry ass about the good of the country either. For the good of the country, and also out of naked self-interest, the D caucus in the US Senate and the Jersey D political machine need to drag him out of there no matter how hard he kicks and screams, which he will. Listen to Honest John Fetterman, people!

Good to see that Fetterman has settled into his role as a Senator. The time away during his recovery seems to have worked to his benefit and his calling a spade a shovel and smacking people over the head with it suits him very well.

And yes, I used the word ‘suits’ deliberately.

Menendez is offering his colleagues an opportunity to do the right thing and boot his ass. They really shouldn’t waste that.

All I’ve got to say is that the Menendez surname is cursed.

“It was tough to be in there,” Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) said haltingly. “Regardless of what we think, the senator is a real human being with family and loved ones and so my prayers go out.”

This is pathetic. Regardless of whether or what we think, those who embrace deep corruption, and bring their families in with them, have chosen to lower themselves below humanity. If one does not hold oneself to human standards, one is not human.

On his way out of the room, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) told reporters that Menendez said he would not resign.

Manchin was only quoting Menendez, and that’s all. WE love to hate our parties pols so we have to misquote them from time to time to make them sound evil.

@whit Senator Warnock is a Baptist minister, a man of the cloth with love and loyalties to God, and he’s simply showing his compassion because of those traits. Is no one allowed to do that?

If we can lose Franken for a silly picture and some claims of patted asses, I think we can lose Menendez without a sigh or a blink. Let Murphy pick someone worthy of the seat, and who can hold it come election time.

Nothing wrong in upholding a dress code for the Senate and the House as well. Otherwise they might all come in looking as if they’d just been working on making repairs to their yachts.

Menendez really can’t seem to read the room. “I’m not going to resign…and I’m going to run for reelection next year!” If he took reelection off the table, that would release the pressure valve a little and more people might grumble, but acknowledge that “at least he’ll be gone next year” and that might get people off his case.

But if he’s going to insist on running with this caught red-handed indictment hanging over him, he’s asking to be thrown in the pressure cooker.
