Looks like a few somebodies are going to be spending a long stint in a federal penitentiary.

Even worse, they’re going to be felons and banned from owning guns when they get out.

So its a terrorist organization… can we please for once treat them as such.

Somebodies, yes, but also nobodies.

Citation needed, ideally.

These goons need to be held without bail. They are high risk. And no COVID risk release. Actions have consequences.

My point is that I’d prefer the seditionists never get out.

Clearly this is a group that needs to be reined in with severe consequences. Out of curiosity, what are these guys referencing in their group name- what is the oath and what or who are they supposedly swearing allegiance to?

Ah. Doubt that. Few years, undoubtedly more for the folks who got violent.

Just another very good person on all sides. In this case the side is domestic terrorism, Trump’s home team.

Ex-military, the oath is the one sworn in the military to defend the Constitution “against all enemies, foreign and domestic”.

One of these days, someone might consider whether to edit it slightly.

There’s going to be more information like this coming out, it’s clear that there were organizations moving within the mob on missions, and not just to take hostages.

It’s also clear that they had some kind of inside information…I saw the video from the first protestors through the door yesterday, and they took a direct path to the stairway that leads to the Senate (where they ran into Officer Eugene Goodman, the Black officer who was chased up the steps). The path they took was very specific, and not what you would expect…they turn from the wide hallway heading towards the end of the building down a narrow one, and then again, and then get to the entry to the stairs…there is just no way the crowd follows that path without the people in front knowing where it leads. The only thing they didn’t know is the doors behind Goodman led to the Senate floor (the main entrance is in the direction he lead them)…if they knew that they would have walked onto the floor, and probably been gunned down by the officers inside.

The whole story of what happened is still to be told, and I don’t think it’s going to be a pleasant one to hear…at least some people in the crowd had intelligence on where to go, some where gathering intel, and some were intent on stopping the function of our government. We really need the full accounting, and the sooner the better, because the damage done will be greater the longer people are fooled into thinking this was just a protest that got out of hand the worse things will be…that thinking is giving Republicans space to act like things are normal, even though they know things are far from there.

To preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic.

They just don’t know how to identify the enemies. (See Pogo.)

As if any “patriot” ever paid attention to that one.

Makes it tough to buy toys, though. And guarantees further stays in prison when they’re caught with them.

Didn’t Trump want to bring back some Bush era actions like extreme rendition? And torture techniques, like the joys of waterboarding, cramped confinement in small wooden boxes, stinging insects in said wooden boxes? Maybe start with these guys and have Steven Miller supervise, then surprise Miller when he is “asked” to join the insurrectionists and traitors? Along with the Trumps, since they professed a desire for it, Barr, Bannon, Flynn . . . (The list is just to frickin’ long to add here.)

and voting, no?

You don’t really think they care about voting more than they care about taking Bertha to the range, do you?
