What is this, an insurrection training center for ants?
When Robert Morss, a substitute teacher who allegedly stormed the Capitol building on January 6, was arrested at his home in Glenshaw, Pennsylvania, on June 11, authorities seized a “fully constructed U.S. Capitol Lego set” during the search, according to court documents made public earlier this month.
Perhaps we should disassemble his Lego set, scatter the blocks across the floors of his house, and make him walk barefoot and blindfolded from one end to the other 100 times.
He has been indicted on nine charges, including robbery, assaulting police officers, obstruction, disorderly conduct, and physical violence on Capitol grounds or buildings.
And those Lego Capitol sets are pricey! $150-250 apiece! Plus, they don’t actually look that great, in my opinion.
Legos, weapons and ammo – just look at what they cost, and you will realize that “economic issues” are not a problem with the GQP MAGA-hats. (For that matter, try pricing a MAGA hat.)
… in which Morss allegedly tells Capitol police officers as he and the rest of the violent pro-Trump mob attempt to breach the building, “We are going to take our Capitol back” and “This is our Capitol. This is our Capitol.”
And where’s the Capitol for the rest of the people living in this country?
Or, uh, don’t we count? (ed.)
Real shame too, that Capital set was $99 at retail but since they were discontinued in 2019 they’re going for more like $200 new in box. Shouldn’t have opened and built it! Protect your lego investments everyone!
I guess it’s just a sign of how old and out of touch I am with the culture, but I really don’t get the appeal of these dedicated Lego sets. I thought the appeal of Lego was that kids could build anything with their imagination, not this pre-designed stuff.
If you want something to actually LOOK realistic then get a plastic model kit, like the planes, tanks, and monster kits I assembled as a kid. That Capitol model looks awful. Harrumph!
