The Latest Whitewashing of Jan. 6 Since President Trump first came back to the White House, he has predictably taken significant steps to white wash the entire episode in 2021, which culminated in a violent mob of his supporters storming the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to halt the Electoral College certification of President Biden’s…

Oh OK…frist!?!

Obligatory cat pic:

EDIT: while my post is somewhat off topic, I couldn’t find a better place to put this.

My wife and I returned from a terrific first visit to Yurp Europe last week and I know we were concerned about the reports—including here—that anti-tRump/MAGA items on one’s phone might prove challenging for those with them on (attempted) reentry into the US. I think my wife may have deleted some/all of her collection.

I did not—and listening to her suggestion that there was no way that a CBP agent would have time to go through the phones of the hundreds of people coming through the lines to Customs in Philadelphia to reenter the country—I’m here to report that I/we had NO PROBLEMS coming through Customs, even with these as just a tiny sample of what’s on my phone.

I’m absolutely not discounting or denying that others may have or had a different experience; I’m simply reporting that I had no problems, even though I had plenty of presumably problematic photos.:person_shrugging:t2::partying_face:

I keep having to remind myself that we as a country have not even experienced a full 12 months of the Trump II administration. Things are moving too fast, and way too slow. (could someone insert the appropriate SciFi reference?)
I think we’re all living what it must be like to be Trump, Org employee. Too few people trying process sometimes contradictory orders and make sense of the senseless.

It’s a cat. It’s plotting. They’re always plotting.

Yup. He mainly likes to take what appear to be insane postures for minutes on end that are nevertheless comfy for him and that crack me up.:roll_eyes::partying_face:

From Bill Ferguson:

the downside risk to Democrats is catastrophic

Yeah, in these times, that’s the most important thing to worry about. Way to meet the moment, Bill.

And that is a good thing. His showing everyone who he and his team really are so rapidly has been important. The fact it is chaos on their end as well as ours is equally a plus. If he and his team were truly competent, this country would have been toast by the end of summer. There is no expectation he will improve and the same is said of his team. They are totally a visceral act and not the organized machine feared.

Another Dem intent on adding to that huge stockpile of dry powder. The downside risk of doing nothing is far more catastrophic, and far harder to fix, than doing something.

The plain truth. Everybody knows it.

There is hope. Voters in some countries have awoken to the fact that far-right parties may know how to win elections, but they can’t govern for prunes.

While Trump rates his meeting with Xi as “12 out of 10”, we’re still waiting for China’s readout.

Trump said he struck a deal to reduce tariffs on China in exchange for Beijing resuming U.S. soybean purchases, keeping rare earths exports flowing and cracking down on illicit trade of fentanyl.

Commenters also note that Trump did most of the talking during the 1 hr 49 minute meeting, which was much shorter than the expected 4 hours (albeit longer than his handlers had put on Trump’s agenda). The Chinese seem to have been the adults in the room, and still no explanation about Lutnick’s inability to sit still. Given that the Chinese economy is roughly the same size as the US economy PPP-adjusted, the Chinese takeaway is critical. Toyota is still scratching its head over Trump’s remarks in Japan.
