A federal judge tore into federal prosecutors on Wednesday over the New Jersey U.S. Attorney’s Office’s bizarre handling of the arrest of Democratic Newark Mayor Ras Baraka earlier this month. The judge also reminded prosecutors that the goals of the DOJ’s work should not involve efforts to “advance political agendas.” The statements from U.S. Magistrate…
Borowitz – South African President’s Approval Rating Expected to Soar After Trump Acts Like a Dick
Oh, come on. Trump acts like a dick all day every day. Is anybdy actually noticing any more?
Plus, to be fair, it’s not “acting.”
"It’s devastating, and hopefully a lot of people are going to start spending a lot of money,” Trump said in the Oval Office.
“I’ve talked to other nations. We want them to chip in and spend money too, and we’ve spent a lot. And it’s a big – it’s a tremendous problem going on in many countries. A lot of problems going on. The United States always gets the request for money. Nobody else helps.”
… … … … …
Once again tump spews words that make no sense.
For those of you who are parents, you know that if you keep telling your child not to do something and then offer no consequences, they will continue to do the same shit over and over again. Cause, why not?
Making a point about Trump and judges here.
The Trump regime is a bad-faith-based organization.
" “The hasty arrest of Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, followed swiftly by the dismissal of these trespassing charges a mere 13 days later, suggests a worrying misstep by your office,” Espinosa said, according to the New Jersey Globe. “An arrest, particularly of a public figure, is not a preliminary investigative tool. It is a severe action, carrying significant reputational and personal consequences, and it should only be undertaken after a thorough, dispassionate evaluation of credible evidence.”
You think they don’t know this, judge? There was no “worrying misstep.” The “significant reputational and personal consequences” are the whole point. And it worked! The Mayor got two full weeks of media opprobrium.
The Democratic Congresspersons got it, too, with inane accusations of “body slamming” the armed and armored ICE agents (poor things!) The con goes this way: State the lie, over and over and over. Take the lie to court. Weeks go by as the lie continues to blanket the media.
Any resolution, either victory or defeat, is irrelevant. Plus, defeats can be appealed!!
He is so stupid, he gives up all our soft power. Real estate is the only way he understands† the world.
†I’m using ‘understands’ loosely!
What is trump spending money on? Or is he just heaving bags of cash around?
We spend money on health, poverty, etc. around the world. Folks look to the US for aid; that gives us power. Now, the world will look to other countries instead. It is not morally ideal to use charity this way, but it is a fact that we do so. But he only sees value in huge tracts o’ land (covered in his golden hotels), so fails to understand what he has lost. Dumb!
I wasn’t paying attention, but Bibi was back in April, sigh.
Kind of sad that Representative Gerry Connolly died today and barely a blip in the news - nothing on TPM.
He’s dumb as a sack of hammers, but operational here are his enjoymeny in the pain of others, and of course, greed.
In any transaction, the overriding concern for Dumb Hitler is, “What’s in it for me?”.
There were comments in the threads when my Congressman Raul Grijalva died in March. I don’t recall a TPM article about him. There may have been one but I don’t recall it.
“President Trump always brings the receipts,” they say of someone who has been convicted of falsifying business records.
“Your role is not to secure convictions at all costs, nor to satisfy public clamor, nor to advance political agendas. Your allegiance is to the impartial application of the law, to the pursuit of truth, and to the upholding of due process for all.”
DOJ: Talk to the hand, judge.
