Federal Appeals Court Rules Seth Rich’s Family Can Sue Fox News

Seth Rich’s family can sue Fox News over the retracted story it ran on a far-right conspiracy theory surrounding their son’s death.

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://talkingpointsmemo.com/?p=1248361

Seth Rich’s family lawsuit will cost Fox “News” a pretty penny to settle since they will not want the case to go to a jury.

Police believe that Seth Rich was shot and killed in his Washington, D.C. home…

No.

“The article alleged that Seth Rich had leaked Democratic National Committee emails to WikiLeaks and implied that that move had resulted in his murder…”

“…as part of the Uranium One cover-up to hide ACORN’s private email server at Antifa headquarters in the basement of Comet Pizza which housed a trail of international trade in fetal body parts established to fund the Benghazi operation staged to kill witnesses to the murder of Vince Foster who knew too much about insider trading on cattle futures and child trafficking at the Mena airport after Hillary Clinton gave birth to the alien baby.”

(And Lou Dobbs was this close to blowing the lid off!)

Everyone who did not vote for Trump should be able to sue Fox News simply because they are Fox News.

Why limit the lawsuit to just the publication of one article? Rich’s parents should also include Hannity in the suit - he’s just as culpable and probably did much more than any online article to keep that B.S. conspiracy theory in the public discussion.

Discovery into FOX’s internal emails and meeting notes between “talent” (Hannity, et alia) and producers could get interesting. Time to show how FOX’s sausage, rotten and nauseating it may be, is made by real people to push lies and noxious ideology.

Yesssss. Let’s see how fast Faux tries to settle now.

The Rich family should get them to get down on their hand and knees on national TV and apologize. They need to admit that they intentionally lied as part of the settlement agreement if that does manage to happen. Faux should also have to agree to apologize for, let’s say, a whole month, on every one of their prime time programs. Each douchebag host that promoted the lies on air to needlessly defame Seth Rich and thereby made his family’s grief so much more difficult to deal with over the years, should be made to pay through the nose…big money. And just to make it really sting…a donation to the DNC for trying to purposely make their life miserable too. I hate the games these fuckers play at Faux for political manipulation.

They have no ethics there and no one to hold any of them accountable. Its a sham operation no matter how much people wanna say they have some kind of walled-off news or hosts that don’t pull that shit. Its the leftover Ailes reign and corporate atmosphere that allows this stuff to continue to go on there.

Will we finally learn what Lou Dobbs does to his hair?

We don’t want to know.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why Fox News will settle. No way, no how they let this go to court.

Ooo…I thought maybe he was going more for the amber shades these days. Obviously, anything but grey, which is probably what’s under all that hair dye.

The irony here (if such a thing still exists anymore) is that the same people who insist that Seth Rich was murdered by a conspiracy are the same ones who, absent a victim linked to Democratic politics, scream that DC is a horrible urban sh1hole infested with street crime.

I hope this suit sends FoxNews to the graveyard of bad cable channels.
