At this point I bet Donnie is shitting bricks. If anything else happens he’s toast.
But will Republicans - including Republican governors - listen and prepare? Or more of “not here, we’re the good guys!”
This is the new America. If our government does not take action against these people the way post war Germany crushed the dead enders, we are lost. Cruz and Hawley need to be crushed first.
He doesn’t think that way. The reports are that he was dumbfounded that White House staff weren’t as jubilant as he was over the Capitol invasion. I suspect he’d cheer these things on if they happen. Fortunately, he doesn’t have a twitter account to egg them on.
Gov. Inslee is on it…the NG is already called up.
I think even his lizard brain can figure out his legal exposure if this happens again.
He would absolutely be happy about it.
It’s Shark Week for him.
The GOP thought they could control the havoc and hate they unleashed . . .
Meanwhile the criminal will have a public audience in Texas just to make sure everyone knows he’s still here and give them encouragement. The fucked states of america.
President Trump could make a statement from the Oval Office and carried by the major networks to the effect that he condemns any acts of violence and that he is committed to a peaceful transfer of power to the lawfully elected president, Joe Biden. Or, he can slip a message through on some confederate’s Twitter account encouraging further acts of insurrection and then slink off to the golf course. Bet the farm on the latter.
I agree. He’s lazy and a coward and always has been. He talks a big game when he’s on Twitter or surrounded by a fawning crowd, but has never been willing to fight the battles he creates and always relies on others to do the actual work and fight the actual fights. He’s losing support with those closest to him (not a lot, but enough to take notice) and if these terrorists begin taking the fight from D.C. to the home districts of his supporters there will be more of his “allies” that distance themselves from him. Without his social media megaphone (and he’s too cowardly to call a press briefing) he can’t get the relief he wants by pretending to be in charge.
The Republican Party wrapping itself in the mantle of “the law and order party” was bull sh_t from the git go!
It’s weird that Buchanan never made this much noise.
Fuck around and find out, assholes. And don’t expect the cops to be betrayed by leadership like they were in DC. Everyone knows they are being watched now. Everyone.
Maybe this is a good time to buy shares in federal prison contracting companies. They are about to get a shit-ton of new residents.
Republicans best be paying attention to those on their staff and other Republican members.
And they damn well better report when they hear something of note.
Trump is a monster who made a monster, and now both monsters are out of control. Damn him and his seditious supporters.
Leaks to reporters from inside the WH are all saying he thinks he did nothing wrong. He either believes that – which I doubt – or that’s the narrative he wants to stick with. Maybe he thinks he’s immune from further blame at this point.
He did do that.
He had to be forced to do it, but he did do it.
They will.
