I have been worried about how the right wing white supremacists are getting more organized, but have been told that it won’t really happen. This is the kind of thing I was worried about…a dozen well armed yahoos storming the governor’s vacation home would have overwhelmed her security detail, especially if the police were drawn away by a distraction. One dead governor (trust me, it would have been a swift “trial”), probably a dozen dead or arrested goons, and a movement inspired to take out other Democratic politicians, or Democrats in general.

There are more out there, planning and preparing, I have no doubt…how many will be caught, how much carnage they will cause, we will soon see. I hope that all of them are discovered and caught, or that they give up after Biden wins, but I have a feeling it’s going to get a lot worse…these people are not going to want to go back into hiding after four years of tasting “power” and thinking that the nation would turn back to white supremacy.

Trump is the only president in recent history to openly encourage a base of supporters to foment violence. The MAGA cult.
A few of the suspects arrested in Michigan had Trump bumper stickers on their trucks.
I don’t remember anyone wearing a Jerry Ford WIN button forming a militia to attack opponents or plotting bombings.

Many of these guys are posers who talk a good game but don’t really want to do more than bitch… Then there are the real crazies who move beyond talk. Those are the scary people. Even the posers are a danger. Often the people who engage “lone wolf” shootings associate with and are inspired by them.

They have always been with us.

I remember reading about the “Posse Comitautus” group in the Michigan U.P. way back in the late 1970’s.

The US has ALWAYS had these nut-case fascist groups, it’s just that now, with platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. it’s a lot easier for these tiny, splinter groups of morons with guns and too much time on their hands to reach out to each other and “organize”, so they SEEM much more powerful than they actually are.

Michigan has had a long history of dealing with these “penis-impared” losers, desperate to display their “Manhood” to the other “incels” in their little groups running around in the north-woods playing “army-man”.

They have NO real power, and when opposed, slink back to their shacks in the North-Woods to sulk like the little boys they truly are.
You have nothing to fear from them, they are no more dangerous to American Democracy than the actors in the local Renaissance Festival, or LARP Groups, who also “dress up and Role-Play” (but at least KNOW they are faking it.)

The significance of these arrests falls less in the realm of possible conviction as it does in chilling any plans by other groups out there.

Think about it. If you are one of these militia types who is in concert with other supposedly like-minded individuals, you may be questioning your own operational security right now: have we been infiltrated? Can I really rely on that loudmouth Caleb keeping his mouth shut? Was that van parked around the corner for two days last week actually a utility company vehicle?

Granted, these people live largely in a fantasy world of there own creation. But their propensity towards paranoid thoughts and beliefs could pour serious cold water on any ambitions they may have had before these arrests.

So, you’re referring to Republicans I gather?

I’m guessing another of their reasons for wanting to kill Northam was that VA passed several (very mild) gun control laws this spring, and Northam, of course, signed them.

I wonder where they got the idea.

How long will Trump allow the FBI arresting these “great Americans”?

In case there was any doubt about interpreting the “LIBERATE …” coded messages sent by Herr Twitler.

I’ve wondered about that. Trump can order the military to do things, he’s their commander. FBI and DOJ personnel are Executive Branch employees. Trump is head of the Executive Branch. They answer to him. He can fire them. Can he order them to do something? Can he order someone be arrested, or indicted, or prosecuted?

Wouldn’t we all like to hear more about this meeting in June in Ohio? Or, is the Senate held up in much more important things, like cramming an unqualified right-wing judge through an immoral process on her way to the SCOTUS?

What the hell were they going to do with Northam?

Had they even thought that far? Good fucking god.

Has that fat motherfucker resigned in disgrace or dropped dead yet?

I wish that were the case. The historical reenactor folks aren’t running around with automatic weapons with a genuine desire to harm people. They may bluster, for the most part, but they are using live ammunition.

I do two things every morning when I wake up. First, I take my temperature because this time of year I cough more due to allergies and most likely, lasting lung damage from Agent Orange exposure. If I had a temp, I would be worried about covid. Then, I pick up my phone for the news and ask, is he dead yet? My temp has been normal but I feel like I’m getting warmer on the other issue.

O I love that you feel you’re getting warmer. I wake up hoping every single day.

A man in Nevada got reinfected with COVID. We can always hope.

I suspect many more people have been re-infected than we know of. People didn’t know they had covid back in Jan or Feb and were never tested. They thought it was the flu.
