VT has a fully vaccinated rate of about 77% and a first dose rate of 83.5% for all those over the age of 12 - the highest in the country.

Buddhism has some pretty shitty levels of where people enter in at a level of endless reincarnations. (Samsara.) I am particularly noteful of “the Hungry Ghost.” I would really *not * want to go there…

VT, MA, HI, CT, ME, RI, NJ, PA, NW, NH, MD, CA, WA, DC, NY, IL, VA, OR & DE have all crossed the 60% threshold with first doses. Here is the vaccination heat map excluding those under 12 who are not yet eligible for the vaccine (trials of kids under 12 began in May).
Clearly the reason for the North East’s comparatively low infection rates are attributable to strong vaccination uptake. But here’s a better indicator of what’s happening.
In this map, anything green to light blue is good. Anything pink, red or purple is bad. Anything white is a time bomb waiting to explode.
Vaccination uptake is high among older cohorts.

75+ years 86.9%. 77.4%
65 - 74. 91.1%. 81.3%
50 - 64. 75.3%. 66.6%
40 - 49. 65.6%. 57.0%
Thereafter, it drops of to a low of 36% of 12-15 year olds with one dose. For the moment at least, infection increases are largely affecting those between the ages of 12 to 39.
If they don’t start vaccinating in vast numbers, a whole lot of the country will turn reddish purple.

How about using a reverse psychology approach? Since many of the unvaccinated are tRump supporters, to them getting vaccinated equals a political win for Biden. Why not just call the vaccine Trump Juice and if you take it that will be the best way to own the libs?
If Newsom does that in California he’s toast in the recall. It’s not the tRump anti-vaxers we worry about here because there aren’t that many of them. It’s the organic orthorexic yoga community types, who typically lean left, but are absolutely opposed to anything they deem unnatural. They are very militant about their opposition to medications and vaccines. They walk around with huge hickies on their backs from cupping, etc. AND they vote. Mandating vaccines would be a political disaster for Newsom.

It is a wonder they can do anything. Lord the Washington Post, NY Times, Texas Tribune all have vaccination information and cases of infection.
Fuck these people they do not want to make a statement about booster shots cause they think it will prove to the idiots that shots don’t work.

Newsom won’t lose the recall over that. He’ll win easily. The yoga left are not large in number. The Dems should worry about major outbreaks in schools when they reopen, which may very well be the result if Dems go soft on demanding that teachers, staff, and eligible kids get vaccinated.

You’d be very surprised. Albeit, I live in a nice coastal community (Carlsbad/Encinitas area) where the yoga Lululemon lifestyle rules, but I’ve heard many express their displeasure over even the thought of vaccines. It’s actually quite common. But this is a demographic that was not especially susceptible to covid to begin with.
Most of the yoga types are people that are quite healthy and lead an extremely healthy lifestyle. I include myself among them (I’m not anti-tax, however). I often wonder where we would be right now if the message to get vaccinated was coupled with the crazy idea of eating fresh clean food, getting exercise, fresh air, some sunlight, along with all that yoga and stress reduction? From my own observation, many of the people whose bodies these vaccines are getting dumped into are pretty unhealthy to begin with, so it’s no surprise to me that there are breakthroughs and the vaccines are turning out to not be as good as we thought or were told. Imagine if all the people getting vaccines were as healthy as they could possibly be to begin with? You’d get a much better immune response.
But talking about eating right and a healthy lifestyle doesn’t make much money for anyone.

The reason those maps are grayed out in some states is because they don’t have enough county-by-county info. They have state-wide info for each state, there are different maps showing that, it’s just not the version that is posted above which shows data by county.

“Big Data”? Or rather someone who’s been tracking that has gotten the attention of people who can grasp that 10,000 fewer GOP voters could flip some counties in very tight swing states?
(If they lose the legislature in some states that have implemented laws allowing the legislature to disregard vote outcomes in terms of certifying the electoral votes, they’re cooked despite their shenanigans and machinations.)

None of those words you wrote can be combined into the phrase “travel advisory”. Really should be at the top of that list you made. Limit the spread and vax rates across states and MSAs don’t need to be as high.
And it can be explained in terms of “if people would be responsible and get vaxxed, extreme measures would not be necessary. It’s a test of personal responsibility that red states are failing.”
