Fauci Suggests Downplaying COVID Contributed To ‘Building Distrust’ In Public Health Agencies | Talking Points Memo

Dr. Anthony Fauci addressed a growing district in public health agencies as the coronavirus continues to rage across the country and the message from President Trump has remained one of almost nonchalant resignation to a virus that he has suggested will — as if by magic — disappear.

This is a very poor analysis by Dr. Fauci. It was simply because the Preshitident and the Republican Death panel were ignorant, incompetent, corrupt, had poor judgement and were repeatedly lying. They were promoting bleach and light, hydroxchloroquine and azithromycin, oleandrin and Goya beans as well as herd mentality as cures.

HHS, CDC and FDA are corrupt and infested with Trump-family whores. They cannot be trusted.

“It’s the elephant in the room.”

Obliviously untrue. The people installed by Trump and his sycophants are incompetent at best, and, yes, corrupt at worst. But these institutions are filled with highly competent and very skilled, well educated people who can bring them back up to speed when Fauci’s admonitions come to the fore. As we hope will happen with new leadership.

“Obliviously: definition: a combination of obvious and oblivious, meant to point out both observations simultaneously.”

It is time for some “civil disobedience” by Fauci

  • speak directly and candidly
  • speak at every opportunity
  • speak to every “unanticipated” opportunity that might “randomly” be presented
  • speak truth … even truth that pokes Trump in the eye ( and make sure truth has a sharp finger nail)
  • make Trump attempt to fire you for speaking the truth … be very very well grounded in the truth and facts …
  • be assured there is a place in the Biden administration for Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Don’t forget the HHS and FDA gave emergency approval to hydroxychloroquine and convalescent plasma without any data and Chad Wolf from DHS reported on experiments with UV light and bleach.

And don’t forget the latest news, that there are Russian and Iranian actors, including trolls, trying to sew dissent at every opportunity, using methods both direct and subtle.

As Donnie and his administration’s action reduce public confidence in our government to the level traditionally afforded to the words of Pravda and Izvestia, Vlad must sleep easy with a joy he otherwise only feels while riding, shirtless, through the woods on horseback.
My recollection is that, according to officials of the Obama administration, the goal of Russia’s election interference was under mining public confidence in our government’s institutions.

The second a Dem has the POTUS title, this pandemic will become absolutely horrid to the average Republican. They will flip 180 in no time.

Can we get rid of it before it stomps, uproots and eats everything that’s growing here?

Sad, but very true. Just look at what Hannity and his ilk, and Trump himself, said about Obama’s handling of Ebola back when the US had only a few cases. Trump said if a single person came in to the US with Ebola, Obama should resign. Then look at Trump’s China “ban,” which had no relation to reality when over 30,000 people flew directly from China to the US, and they were crowded into passport control in airports, with no-one there to even pretend to take anyone’s temperature.

I suggest we place it in a nature preserve.

It’s the ethical thing to do.

I think you miss the point. Yes, Biden will immediately pick better people. But the damage will last. And Republicans will take ANYTHING that a new competent leader says and gaslight it immediately just to make sure that nobody trust the new person.

I don’t understand Republican and never will. They seem to want the deliberate destruction of the USA - and they are succeeding.

Consider the source. That information came from Johnny Ratcliff, a skanky Trump-owned christian extremist whore from Texas. When was the last time a Director of National Intelligence provided intelligence by press conference?

It is quite clear that the US will never deal effectively with COVID19 as long as the Repukes have control of any part of the US government and that probably includes SCOTUS.

I am considering the source, and total absence of sourcing in such comments, which are simplistic and filled with innuendo, at best. Best way to handle such comments is to ignore them, starting now.

I do agree completely, but basically point out the irony of their approach.

And leave us not to forget that Hannity, Ingraham, Carlson, and Pirro, Limbaugh, and their ilk (none of whom are journalists, but are absurdly called “commentators” or “providing entertainment”), have been and continue to grow absurdly wealthy with their drivel, much of which they do not even believe themselves. It’s a schtick, an act; much of the time, they know full well that their simplistic views are simply red meat for the uninformed, but it sells pillows and lines their pockets, so, dayam, it’s a great ride.

(So I don’t listen to any of them, except to tune in on occasion to see that they’re still the same. On the other side of the coin, it’s kind of absurd for the counter-commentators, like Maddow, to also be getting totally wealthy by harrumphing harrumphing all over the place, exposing the weak absurdities of the Fox and dark-money driven opinion makers. By ignoring them all, and simply following TPM and reading actual quotes from those in charge, or those trying to get in charge in the case of Biden, Gideon, and others, one can pretty much understand what’s up, and save a lot of time in the process.)

Destroying the credibility of health agencies is part of the overall plan. The more they can sow distrust and chaos, the better off all of our enemies are, and that includes the current occupant.

“Building distrust” is a GOP feature, not a bug.

Every move by a Biden administration will be met with screams from the right wing about how dire it will be for the country and that Biden has a dark ulterior motive.

Oh, this has been the strategy of the Republicans and their dark-money benefactors for a long time: screw up government and make it bad, then point out that government is bad, and then say government should be de-funded.

Of course, when a real crisis comes along, such as Covid-19, this strategy can clearly be seen as back-firing. By putting in incompetent people like Trump, then get their wishes on things like lower taxes, but they can’t just deny away what’s going on in hospitals as they have been able to do with climate change, which has a far longer time-factor and is more of a “creeping” problem that will get worse and worse over coming generations.
