Dr. Anthony Fauci on Tuesday threw cold water on President Donald Trump and his allies’ attempt to distort the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) data to misleadingly shrink the COVID-19 death toll.

Trump has required the creation of a new species of presidential fact check in which you have to drag in some unsuspecting entity to correct him - the Boy Scouts, the Babe Ruth Museum, Portland Fire & Rescue, the government of Sweden.
There is a reason why Trump and this administration have been lethally and purposely wrong about this virus. It disproportionally hits minorities who tend to vote for Democrats. This is called genocide. There is no other word for it.
I like pogrom. Just because when conversing with a prole it throws them, you just know you’ve lost them.
This is not complicated. The other pre-existing conditions were not by themselves fatal. Not hard to grasp, which is why the Deplorables have such difficulty. If you get clipped by a bicycle crossing the street that causes you to fall, and then get run over by a truck that kills you, the Trumptards would claim that you were killed by the bike. It’s a contributing factor, but it’s not the cause of death.
Good God, the stupidity of the Deplorables is stunning.

He may not care, assuming his pension is secure.
He may even get a bigger platform as a result.

Orange Menace has gone Q-Conspiracist level again…The tweet from “Mel Q” that Trump retweeted and Twitter removed.
It was copied from a Facebook post and claimed the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had “quietly updated the Covid number to admit that only 6%” of reported deaths — or about 9,000 — “actually died from Covid.”
I am unable to control my gag reflex this morning to look at or listen to Fox (or worse) and see if the spin on this has already caught fire.
“Only 9,000 dead from Covid-19. That’s right folks. Thank you so much, great President T!”
Fauci just had surgery to remove polyps on his vocal chords. He needs to rest his voice but i am grateful for his willingness to swat down Trump’s lies.
I’m grateful also that the polyps seem to have been benign. We’re screwed without Fauci. There is literally not a single individual within this administration that we can trust.
Unfortunately, we still need fact checkers, now more than ever. Peoples lives are at stake.

Trump and his minions continue to assault Fauci’s integrity but Americans still trust him more than Trump.
It never stops. Truth is irrelevant. Effect is everything. You’d almost think the major offender had trained for his present role on TV.
The scary part is that by undermining truth so often, Trump is encouraging the conditions that lead to civil unrest.
The thing is how absurd the lie is. He’s completely lost any ability to distinguish between what’s barely plausible and what’s laughably ridiculous. A city cannot be on fire for decades. (And if any of you smartypantses want to bring up Centralia, Pa., I can tell you it’s a nearly a ghost town now and has been mostly reclaimed by the underbrush.)
