Fauci Says WH Effort To Discredit Him Is ‘Major Mistake’ That ‘Ultimately Hurts’ Trump

The nation’s top infectious diseases expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, told The Atlantic in an interview published Wednesday, that recent attempts by the White House to attack and discredit him are “nonsense” and “completely wrong.”

Trump can’t fire him. Fauci is career civil service. But he could have him “reassigned” to some other, presumably “ineffectual”, job posting.

Not sure if LOW cognitive skill but HIGH criminal tendency Covidiot Trump can connect the dots or think long term ie “ultimate hurting him by attacking Dr. Fauci”!

Covdiot Trump is a mythomaniac (20k+) lies and counting AND a vengeful bully…so I hope Dr. Fauci can weather this fight for America’s sake!

Fauci contradicted himself in the early stages of the outbreak.

While Trump contradicts himself by the late stage of most sentences.

While touting his relationship with Fauci, the Trump administration meanwhile released new guidelines that, effective Wednesday, instructs hospitals to bypass the CDC in reporting their COVID-19 data to the government each day.

This is so incredibly crazy. Absolutely insane. How could they possibly even think of doing this? I’ve never seen anything even remotely this fucked up in public health administration: it’s a plan to kill people through wilful ignorance and lies!!

“When the staff lets out something like that and the entire scientific and press community push back on it, it ultimately hurts the President,” Fauci said. “I don’t really want to hurt the President. But that’s what’s happening.”

When the person is certifiably insane it’s difficult to hurt them much more.

I have a new job with Blue Cross/Blue Shield (IT). Shortest period of unemployment I’ve ever experienced. Same salary as before, too, which is always good.

In the meantime…I am dealing with the immense flow of details concerning getting my mother placed in an assisted living facility. (I have a brother and sister who will help out, so that’s cool.) The therapists who have visited her agree: her husband is incompetent and cannot be trusted to see to her needs. He rambles on and on and on about nonsensical subjects, and it’s clear my mother will soon feel MUCH better being away from this idiot.

I know Trump’s mental deterioration has been mentioned many times before, but lately I’ve seen first-hand how much he resembles my mother’s husband. He is falling apart on the inside. Anyone who refuses to admit the truth is only doing him further harm. He is NOT all there. Neither is my mother’s husband.

Something so obvious that even the Trump bootlickers at the NRO were puzzled about it.

If I had spent the last five years in a coma and woke up today, I would want to get back to my coma.

It certainly hasn’t done Trump any favors. Most people seem to trust Fauci.

@ClutchCargo - I would like to go back to the 20th century. Please.

“This hurts the President. I don’t want to hurt the President.” Fauci is astonishingly generous. He just wants to stop the pandemic. He sees the simple truth that Trump’s efforts to demonize Fauci hurt the chances of stopping the pandemic, and that an out-of-control pandemic will ultimately hurt Trump. He has the intelligence, the fearlessness, and the class, to say so publicly.

No one in Trumpworld will listen for a second.

The fact that a perfectly reasonable human being, like Anthony Fauci, calls attention to how Trump’s crass political tactics will backfire, means nothing to Donald Trump or his cronies and enablers. We can even predict their response: “Fauci doesn’t know about politics and should stick to nerd stuff,” or some derivation.

Trump is the guy who called attention to the fact that he struggled to drink a glass of water. It was barely even a thing, but he couldn’t help himself.

Trump is the guy who drew a Sharpie over a NOAA hurricane map then defended the practice with a five-year-old’s lie, “I don’t know, I don’t know.”

Trump is the guy who held an upside-down Bible in front a church his strike force just gassed.

No, Anthony Fauci, and Fauci’s perfectly reasonable understanding of this situation, mean nothing to Trump. Fauci must realize this, which is incentive enough for him to keep saying whatever he thinks he should.

So good for him, and lucky us.

Hmm, who should I believe? The physician with 36+ years experience dealing with diseases, or a washed-up TV host and a fake economist? Decisions, decisions…just finished reading the full interview with Dr. Fauci and let me tell you; we are lucky to have him. As for Meadows claiming ignorance about this attack? Bullshit. If he didn’t know, he’s doing a lousy job; if he did know, he’s just a damned liar. smh.
