“Maybe” Fauci? Really? It’s well past time for timid recommendations.
It is so sad that after seven months of suffering and death on a mass scale, the top infectious disease person in our country still has to say this and still feels he has to put a maybe in front of it to have any chance of certain people listening. It’s long past time for a hardcore national mask mandate to be put in place. And it is infuriating and heartbreaking that this is even a topic of conversation. This country really is too dumb to exist.

Fauci might as well let it all hang out now that tRump signed that EO last Wednesday that will reclassify him as an “at will” employee with no civil service protections.
We’re gonna see a lot of deaths between now and when President Biden is finally allowed to be sworn in. Ten weeks or so following the election of Trump’s combined negligence, vengeance on his enemies, and scorching the earth of the federal government. Bill Barr opening frivolous federal lawsuits right and left (but mainly left, of course.) No more COVID relief, particularly for any state that didn’t vote Trump.
But, in all honesty, it’ll probably be much worse than just those things.

I realize this is going to be politicized, but Fauci is simply speaking a simple scientific truth, and is laser focused on saving lives.
It speaks to the depravity of Trump and his Administration that Fauci’s attempt to save American lives will be parsed for political intent. And that he may well be fired for doing so.

I wish Fauci would announce that he endorses Joe Biden’s coronavirus proposals, say directly and unabashedly and emphatically that people should wear masks, and urge the federal government (of which he is or isn’t a part apparently) to mandate mask-wearing.
