Fauci Decries Governors Easing COVID Restrictions: ‘Risky To Say It’s Over’ | Talking Points Memo

What Fauci’s really thinking: “She’s an ignorant asshole with an antediluvian mindset.”

For whatever the motivation, at the end of the day she is a crazy lady. Next up, Kristi becomes a bus driver with absolutely no fear of cliffs.

I took high school biology in 1970, and that’s the extent of my training in the life sciences. But I can see that Baker is out in front of his skis.

You don’t need a weatherman to tell which way the wind blows, and it’s still blowing COVID.

I get what you are saying, hard to do when one is entering their third week with no water.
This experience is giving me insight into some aspects of being homeless, though I have home and power.

I think though if you were to pull each states chart out I don’t think you’d see such a correlation to holidays.
I don’t think one can judge how bad it is locally by how many are in the hospital because they have move rural patients to larger hospitals in large cities.

It just shows we accept higher numbers after each peak.

In another world, the American President would have acted quickly, boldly, and appropriately following the known science and informed Americans accurately at every step. She would have led not just us, but the entire world’s response to the pandemic. While the situation would have still been challenging, to say the least, Americans wouldn’t be so frazzled and bone-tired as they are now after almost a full year of an incompetent, uncaring administration lying about the situation, actively making things worse, and giving Americans the exact opposite advice of the true experts. I have some sympathy for Americans who, despite the science, wanting to get on with things. It’s not the right time, it’s crucial we stay strong for a bit longer, and we certainly need to educate them about it, but I understand.

Yeah, it was a great discussion! Three words: “Alex Morse scandal.” And done.

Virus doesn’t understand the genius of fake-it-til-you-make-it and the power of magical thinking. Damn stubborn Democratic virus. Why can’t it be more like our Dear Leader?

What is it about what Fauci and other experts say about Covid that people just don’t understand? He obviously doesn’t want to be alarming but at the same time he’s speaking clearly, IT"S NOT OVER!!!

If one person says that 2+2=4 and another that 2+2=5, 4.5 is not the right answer. There is only one right answer and I trust the guy who has devoted his life to studying and curing infectious diseases instead of the politicians.

Is anyone having trouble with the comments here being wonky?

Remember when House Republican Louie Gohmert sued Mike Pence to try to get a federal judge to give the former VP power to grant Trump a second term? The three Gohmert attorneys are now facing bar complaints.

Yes, it’s intermittent, which is no less frustrating than consistently shite.

ETA: it’s only comments though. Likes go through as ever. Testing an edit to see if that’s borked too.

But that’s the problem. All of the experts on Facebook have at a least a Masters degree, if not a PhD, in any possible subject.

I guess Gov Noem is willing to risk her life on a bet? She best not have any underlying medical conditions. Ignorance of the willful sort can kill you. I would hope that families who lost loved ones would write Gov. Noem and let her know what her willful and very deliberate stupidity means in human terms. Of course I expect she does not read any correspondence from those she was elected to serve.

Mitt ran against a woman. Massachusetts still has that old-school misogyny. Perhaps the election of the excellent Senator Warren has changed some of that, though. I very much hope that Maura Healey can be our next governor.

I can’t explain Baker, though.

Don’t underestimate how stupid Louie really is.

Oh, I’ll bet she’s not willing to risk HER life on a bet. She’s betting her constituents are dumb enough follow her logic over a cliff.

That is important to catalogue in your memory banks. When I was a graduate student I was dirt poor. I had only the prospect of an education to get me out of poverty. I graduated without a job or even an offer… So, I headed for the city where I’d spent time and had friends… Tucson. I had a pick-up with my worldly possessions and my dog and $400. No job, living in my truck. Money disappearing daily… I pounded the sidewalk for 4 months… finally I got an interview that resulted in a job. By the time of my first paycheck I was down to my last few dollars. I have a small understanding of what being without a home feels like. What staring at an empty wallet feels like. My stint of real poverty was in the long run brief, but the memory has remained.
