WASHINGTON (AP) — Three members of the White House coronavirus task force, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, placed themselves in quarantine after contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, another stark reminder that not even one of the nation’s most secure buildings is immune from the virus.
While it is a good idea for Dr Fauci to be in quarantine, it’s a bad idea for Trump, Stephen Miller’s creepy wife, and Pence to do so. Let them keep mingling with MAGA cultists and Trump henchmen, such as Barr, Grenell, Ratcliffe, and other criminals. It’s the perfect thing to do.
The CDC statement said if he must go to the White House to fulfill any responsibilities as part of the coronavirus task force, he will follow CDC practices for critical infrastructure workers. Those guidelines call for Redfield and anyone working on the task force to have their temperature taken and screened for symptoms each day, wear a face covering, and distance themselves from others.
It’s not just infrastructure week, it’s critical infrastructure week!!!
We crossed 80,000 fatalities last night. We’re sitting at 1.35 million corona virus cases. If we average 900 fatalities per day, we will reach 100,000 by the end of the month. We’re averaging roughly 1800 per day, so 10-12 days seems more likely. The case loads are also not slowing down. We’re on track for over 1.5 million cases in less than 10 days.
Watching folks like Nate Silver pontificate on the corona virus data is a bit painful. Many miss a very simple point: there’s no cure for this. A certain percentage who catch it will die. If you want to stop people from dying, you have to limit the number of people who catch it.
However, we already have 1 million unresolved cases. Among resolved cases, the fatality rate is 25%. Apply that number to the remaining 1 million and that’s up to 250k additional fatalities. Now, the fatality rate has dropped since the beginning and will continue to fall, but it is going to settle at a point that’s much higher than the stats that have been bandied about. Even if the fatality rate among the remaining caseload is 10%, that’s still another 100k fatalities, which means that realistically we have to be looking at 200k-300k as the target with mitigation. Yet, we are lifting mitigation measures, which will send the caseloads and casualties higher.
Fully agree. The former is pretty much indispensable, the latter(s) “are of little significance when compared to the overall purpose of serving the people, and therefore able to be abandoned”.
Good morning Sir.
Here’s an image of some “deep cleaning” that the Truman folk undertook in 1948 wjhen the White House was basically falling apart. The only original part left are the exterior walls…
