Far-Right House GOPers Toss Targeting Trump Prosecutors Into Shutdown Threat Mix

From what I understand, that’s not a thing that can be done.

Additionally, special counsel is funded through a fund at the US Treasury controlled by the Attorney General. Jack Smith’s work would continue in the event of a shut down. https://t.co/d37PKnTB0N

None of this will address inflation, or the allegedly open border, or the high cost of prescription drugs, all of which the GOP claims to be interested in addressing and has been campaigning on.

But governing is hard. Getting news hits on Fox and OAN and Newsmax is easier, and sexier besides.

I wonder how they’d spend their time if they didn’t have a corrupt criminal cult leader to try to protect from almost certain criminal prosecution? Certainly nothing to help average Americans and quite a bit to hurt us, most likely.

Well, at least we taxpayers are getting our money’s worth paying for their salaries, benefits, staff costs, multiple office expenses, … so they can do the important and difficult work of governing.

To me, it looks like an effort to create the two tiered justice system they allegedly object to; although, in the case they’re seeking, it would act to protect reactionaries and their allies.
It’s as if someone is longing for a second, and national, end of Reconstruction.

Going through the motions, outraged and sputtering, is the MAGA congress’ natural state. They’ve got nothing but are trying to make the most of it. Fail.

Those guys think Government shutdowns are cool and are looking for excuses to provoke one. Lets make sure that during the shutdown nobody in their districts receives SS or SNAP and see how they like them apples.

More truthful…

“Ninety-one indictments,” Duncan said. “Fake Republican, a trillion dollars’ worth of debt [from his time in the White House], everything we need to see to not choose him as our nominee, including the fact that he’s got the moral compass of a … more like an axe murderer than a president.

“We need to do something right here, right now. This is either our pivot point or our last gasp as Republicans.”

Glad to see republicans aren’t acting as petty, authoritarian thugs or anything.

Will he stamp his little feet and pout, too?

More performative bullshit that will go exactly nowhere.

Jan 6 never ended for these folks. They are still doing Donald Trump’s bidding. Protecting him from accountability and advancing this grievance driven agenda.

This is especially true of the ‘impeachment’ farce and the attacks on prosecutors.

And I have little hope that MSM will start calling this out for what it is.

This looks like obstruction of justice to me, even the mere suggestion that the prosecutions be stopped.

I am thankful the prosecutions are funded elsewhere and continue.
