The longtime New York writer and women’s advice columnist who this summer accused President Trump of raping her two decades ago, sued the President on Monday for defamation.
Worth noting that her lead attorney is Roberta Kaplan, who is well-known and very good at this sort of claim.
That said, Ms. Carroll has an uphill battle simply because she is a public figure. It’s highly unlikely that she has any measurable damages that she can recover. The discovery will be a lot of fun, if she can get to it.
It´s amazing to me the caliber of the lawyers that Trump is left with. I am loath to underestimate Trump, but what sort of idjit would hire Giuliani and Sekulow?
Sekulow’s a part-time lawyer, I think, and full-time conservative kook. Giuliani is only called a lawyer to keep his actual shady machinations under wraps better. I can’t see that he does any actual legal work for Trump at all.
Republicans to include what is and has been a Republican (not conservative) Supreme Court made rulings in regard to attacks with much less credibility against Bill Clinton and now those rulings can be used against a Republican.
Anybody got any read on the skills of Boris and Natasha (aka Toensing and DiGenova the Weak Moustache)? I know he was an AUSA or DA or something at one point. Not that that’s saying much, but what about her? And do they have any substantial notches on their belts?
Ain’t that the truth. Just a vicious person. And compared to Sanders, no slouch herself in blandly issuing appalling defamations of decent people’s character, that’s saying something.
