This is the 1st I’ve heard of potential TrumpCo inauthentic account disinformation a la Russian Information Warfare. Need to know more but it makes complete sense: No one is stopping or disciplining him or his campaign … of course they will keep pushing the limits … even if illegal.

Russia / TrumpCo = 2 sides, same coin.

Why is this reading “Facebook” is investigating and not “The FBI”…

I really trust Facebook to get to the bottom of this.

Why are you laughing?

Hadn’t you heard? Dump can’t do anything illegal. He’s the president.

And if you don’t like it he can shoot you on 5th Avenue.

Parscale is going to push things as far as he can, and that’s not going to be limited to trying to get Democrats to select the candidate that he wants to run against. The fall is going to see an explosion of disinformation that has likely never been seen before…we’ll see the Republicans cheat as blatantly as they ever have, and then there will be the Russians working hard to get Trump a second term.

Facebook is in no way ready for the onslaught, and the FBI won’t investigate anything related to Trump, though they will gladly look into the Democrats for any minor infraction…just one more way Republicans will cheat. It’s going to be a huge mess, and right in the middle of perhaps the last chance to save the free nation that we all grew up in, and one that promises freedom for all Americans going forward.

Only Facebook can investigate their own systems / data. As scary as it is, stopping malicious Account In-authenticity and Social Media Disinformation (at this point) can only be done by the platforms (Facebook / Twitter / Snap / etc). It’s not even illegal (and won’t be anytime soon) … but it is against the Terms of Service. The best way to help them battle this Disinformation Warfare we’re being attacked with is to stop using their services.

This does 2 things:

  1. You have removed yourself as a target of these weapons.
  2. The platforms, losing “customers” (AKA: eyeballs for their ads), will make them work harder to clean up their networks.

The New York Times and won’t say sh*t about it, either. Too partisan.

HIDE THE CHILDREN!! Soon the Russian Bernie Memes will be upon us, transforming us into raving communists with the first gaze.

Not necessarily. All those pesky laws restricting foreign investment in our elections. Certainly a role for the FBI to be looking into whether foreign funds are being used on facebook to those ends.

Sounds pretty dire. How much should we freak out, on a scale of 1 -10?

Nothing to see here. Move along.

You know nothing will come of any investigation.

Yeah, this guy’s got zero chance of winning the presidency…except that he already has, twice: Obama.

Bernie’s not my first choice but if he wins he’s got my unquestioned support, especially given the alternative, and I absolutely believe he can win, but only by reframing the terms of debate and changing paradigms, and, like Obama, he’s pretty good at that. Those who can’t stand him and are convinced that he’d lose, get ready to make some really tough decisions if he’s the nominee.

“But the check cleared, so you know, we figured it was fine.”

I wonder if this is Russia or the GOP. Same difference. Just today Republican Senators said Bernie was the guy to beat Trump. Or something like that.

Bernie, the dead beat Dad, has a lot of crap in his background that is going to come out. I just hope it comes out sooner rather than later.

Any examples of pro-Bernie Russian propaganda out there? It would be great to have some reference for this article.
And because Josh does not allow comments on his editorials, I just want to say here that today’s piece, trying to argue that somehow Obama allowing Bush & Co. (and Wall Street & Co.) to get away with murder did not pave the way for the election of Donald Trump, has to be one of the most ridiculous arguments I have heard in a long time.
