Ex-Trump WH Aide Details Why Hutchinson Switched Lawyers

Former Trump White House communications director Alyssa Farah on Thursday detailed the series of events that led to the damning testimony Cassidy Hutchinson — a former top aide to White House chief of staff Mark Meadows — delivered during a Jan. 6 Select Committee public hearing this week.

It was odd having the bad guys supply lawyers for the little people.

Not odd at all, better and probably more effective than threatening them with a horse head.

Not convinced that having Trump’s lawyers ‘provide’ was odd…I’m thinking it is how the mob does business.

I, for one, can’t imagine why anyone would believe for even an instant that Trump-world paying for these attorneys had a corrupt purpose. Everyone knows, everyone talks about, how careful everyone in Trump-world is to obey not just the letter of the law, but the spirit, and how they all maintain the highest ethical standards, at all times.

I mean, except for those times when it’s expedient, convenient, or even just possible to ignore the law and any notion of ethical standards.

It is actually quite simple that if one wants to tell the truth, abide by the law, be honorable and patriotic, put the interests of the country before any one person, that taking the advice of a “DJT stained” lawyer would be contrary to one’s intent.

Sounds like some really stupid MAGA lawyers need to get lawyers of their own.

If the mob is providing your counsel, you are working for the mob. Otherwise it’s a “leave the gun, take the canollis” situation.

As always it sounds like the mob, and of course they provide (require) people to use their mob lawyers otherwise they know they aren’t being ‘loyal’.

It’s clear that anyone who accepts representation by an attorney paid for by Trump supporters is accepting that they will not be telling the whole story. It can be difficult for someone without sufficient funds to fire a free attorney and start paying for one out of pocket. This is where the individual decides whether they are a true patriot or a summer soldier. Pocket vs. patriotism.

Hutchinson, pushed beyond the limit after supporting Trump’s horrible agenda for so long, decided to be a patriot. She deserves credit for that. Does it wipe away her earlier support? A question for historians of ethics.

Given the track record of Trump’s attorneys, you’d have to be an idiot to accept representation from anyone Trump threw your way.

This has been standard Trump procedure for dealing with former mistresses, assaultees, and inconvenient personages forever. Anyone remember e.g. the Stormy Daniels lawsuits?

What was the new testimony? I mean, other than the revelation of threats and even that was only implicit in regard to Hutchinson.

Did I miss something?

Trumpworld had assigned lawyers to many lower level staffers who could not cover legal fees on their own

Can you spell “C-O-N-F-L-I-C-T O-F I-N-T-E-R-E-S-T” ??

I knew you could.

Can these “lawyers” be sanctioned for serving two masters at the same time? TrumpWorld is paying lawyers to keep these people quiet, regardless of their personal legal exposure. As soon as Cassidy got a new lawyer, he made her well aware of the danger she was in.

She could set up a GoFundMe for legal expenses and I’ll give her $50.

You do not know how many incompetent attorneys there are. I have been able to outthink several of mine, including the one who was disbarred. Too many of them are disreputable.

You’re being unfair…we all know it’s the 98% ambulance chasing shysters who make the 2% honest lawyers look bad./s

To know lawyers, even the ones posting here, is to be irritated by them.
