Ex-Trump Official Tries To Scare Employers Out Of Paying For Abortion Travel

Much like Herschel Walker and his prop police badge, some in the right-wing universe can’t help flaunting power they don’t actually have.

So why doesn’t Joe have the USPS Board fire Dejoy already for his wanton and insidious destruction of Post Office property AND his interference in federal elections.

That mofo has got to go. Then they can lower the price of stamps back to what they should be, and leverage their incredible network to the benefit of all Americans.

I hear ya, but it is not within the authority of the President.

This from the folks that cry tyranny at the most petty of events. It’s not about abortion as much as it is about control. If they’ve been successful in banning abortion at home why concern themselves with what goes on elsewhere? Control and a refusal to recognize that others have a right to control themselves.

Just another “no nothing Republican” spouting lies, playing on fears and claiming power that she does not have.

“To provide a cash travel benefit only for abortion is to encourage employees to have abortions, and such encouragement has been found to be evidence supporting a class claim of pregnancy discrimination.”

What the everloving fu…? So the existence of an option to travel to another state to have an abortion is actually pregnancy discrimination? I suppose because if you want to travel to a state where abortion is legal, but aren’t intending to terminate a pregnancy while you’re there, your company won’t pay for your travel, so therefore it’s not fair. Or something.

ETA: this is additionally ridiculous as the people supporting this nonsense are the same ones who would strenuously oppose mandatory maternity leave and childcare benefits as an “undue burden” on the country’s job-creators.

Right now the Board is stacked in DeJoy’s favor. Biden can change that but I think he’s handling it right. So far DeJoy has had a negative impact but he’s not destroyed the USPS. IF he moves in that direction Biden will act I’m sure. DeJoy is certainly gone if Biden wins in 2024. Wray should be the one Biden concentrates on. In time he’ll bite Biden in the ass just like Comey did Obama. Had Obama canned Comey NONE of this mess we’re in today happens.

It is stunning to see women advocating policies which negatively impact women

Since Trump is still President, in her mind, she has the power. :fu:

Nobody hates women more than Republican women.

That depends on who the women are. A post menopausal woman with 2 kids can take a “fuck you I’ve got mine” attitude on reproductive rights because although she’s a woman she’s not in the issue’s game anymore.

I guess that since she admits she’s no longer a federal employee she can’t be in violation of the law that prohibits impersonating a government official. But someone ought to look at the ethical rules of the state(s) in which she’s licensed to practice law.

Isn’t that always what it’s been about?

As LBJ so bluntly put it: “If you can convince the lowest white man he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he’ll empty his pockets for you.”

MAGA, Jan 6th … they’re all ways for the powerless to feel empowered, while actually dancing to the tune of the real powers.

Yeah, its pretty convoluted and ridiculous “legal logic”. By the same logic, women who get an abortion can sue employers for discrimination since they do not get the tens of thousands of $$$ for pre-natal and childbirth costs that birth mothers get.
