Ex-Trump National Security Adviser: ‘Condemning White Supremacists Should Be A Layup’

I don’t believe Joe named a single police organization that has endorsed him, which is the correct response.

A, the FBI has identified Right wing White Supremacists as the most serious domestic terrorism threat.
B, the President of the United States should know who they are, that’s his freaking job.
C, reporters should ask the Mouth’s of Trump why he doesn’t know who they are.

Just repeating the obvious because it needs repeating until someone does it.

That was egregious. Not even in the administration anymore and he’s still playing this “OMG there’s an antifa under the bed!” game. It’s stupid and it’s gonna get people killed.

“centripetal forces in our society” have now “created by this interaction of identity politics with racism and bigotry.”

Can anyone explain wtf that’s supposed to mean? Aren’t racism and bigotry usually, historically tied up with a politics of identity? Like, isn’t that how it fucking works? And where do “centripetal forces” come in? I’m having trouble believing McMaster knows what a centripetal force is.

It’s not a fumble. Under the stress of any given moment we all end to gravitate to our basic instincts. Some, I would hope most of us, have had decent guidance as to what to do in critical moments. We learn from example and experience; evolving, reexamining Our positions on issues both personal and public.

Rump went to his basic instinct. It was formed by the humiliation and lack of love his parents used as a weapon. It was shaped by his idolatry in powerful, despotic men and systems. Mentored by
Roy Cohn, Rump learned to be ruthless in his pursuits.

He is in fear. He will do anything to remain in power. For him everything hinges on that. Failure will lead to being found out and that would be the ultimate humiliation.

The analogy of “a lay up” obviously refers to an easy feat in basketball. Donnie was not athletic. Donnie is not smart. Donnie is a loser. To that extent, a different analogy needs to be applied, maybe along the lines of the village idiot doing something idiotic and stupid because it is in their nature.

McMaster is more emphatic than, e.g., Kelly about the president’s inability to condemn white supremacists. That, too, is a layup, limbo under a ten-story-high bar. But don’t confuse that with me being impressed by McMaster’s statement or behavior. I am not.

The night after he refused to condemn white supremacists and specifically The Proud Boys, he doubles down on racism.

"Biden will turn Minnesota into a refugee camp" -- Speaking in a state with one of the largest Somali populations in the country, Trump goads his fans into booing refugees, prompting "lock her up!" chants directed at Ilhan Omar pic.twitter.com/dT2yuHxFDZ

““McMaster went on to say he’s unsure why Trump failed to seize his chance to denounce white supremacists during the debate…””

ahem…McMasters, please meet Occam, whose Razor makes it clear that it is BECAUSE TRUMP IS A WHITE SUPREMACIST IN A SUIT.

NB : Remember that McMasters who criticized Vietnam Era military big-shots (he wrote a book!) who were afraid to tell the truth to LBJ and the public? Yeah, neither does this current McMasters, who dodges & weaves & hedges as much as those prior generals.

I see the source of your confusion. You were thinking that “white” is a constructed identity just as much as “black”.

This is obviously wrong. The default state of the universe is to be white, male and wealthy. Declaring that your “whiteness” makes you better than everyone else cannot therefore be “identity politics” it must be merely economic anxiety. Noting that the agents of the state treat you differently -and often kill you- because of the color of your skin is identity politics which divides this great nation so you should shut up about it.

I hope that clears things up

arguing that the country needs “leaders who can bring us back together and generate confidence in our identity as Americans and as human beings,” without directly mentioning Trump,

For the record, McMaster, we have reached the calling-out stage of the game where serious players are required to mention names. Otherwise the guilty will intone “He couldn’t have been talking about me.” and walk away from your criticisms unscathed.

Why yes…however, YOU well know that nothing is a ‘lay up’ with Donnie. Nothing.

I think he spent a year with the man too. And I kept hearing how smart McMaster was.

Ah, yes, now I see it: McMaster was talking about BLM when he mentioned identity politics and racism being pulled centrally via rotational motion.
