As most don’t understand what we LGBT live with, as a white woman, I don’t pretend to understand POC live with. They have asked allies not to do this. I’ll respect that.

If he’s doing that then he’s clueless about the consequences.
I’ve read the history thanks, and I’m not the one who is confused. This has nothing to do with segregated support, and everything to do with either being clueless about how this harms POC by implication, or a deliberate attempt to cause that harm. This is not how you support the cause.

Just some thoughts:
The press is calling him a TEENAGER. But he is at least 18- a legal adult thus his name and photo published. However, media regularly refers to black teens as MEN when arrested at age 18-19. The subtle yet unmistakable difference in downplaying offences and the offender while overplaying others.

Because if a white person does it, and there is no evidence of who’s actually responsible, black people are going to take the blame. It’s a point that peaceful black protestors have made many times when young white agitators have been found spray painting “BLM” and related graffiti during protests.

Vandalism, fires, and other diversionary tactics are key tactics to addressing police violence used against peaceful protesters.
The police want everything to be peaceful, that way they’re free to beat and gas and shoot people for their jollies. Vandals and the like force them to do real police work and prevent them focusing their efforts fully on suppressing the general population.
