Former FBI director James Comey on Tuesday labeled the pro-Trump mob that stormed the Capitol last week “terrorists” and argued that changing President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration plans in response to last week’s deadly insurrection “would be a mistake.”

Our rituals have already been interrupted, not just from MAGA insurrection, but by the pandemic that Trump has so poorly managed. Adjusting inauguration plans so that Biden doesn’t get assaulted or assassinated on his first day is not only prudent, but necessary.
A machismo “can’t let the terrorists win” attitude is a terrible way to fight this homegrown threat (which Comey didn’t do enough to combat during his tenure).

Jim Comey needs to learn the art of being ashamed. Yesterday, Katy Tur had John Bolton on her show and let him spew his line of ‘maybe/maybe not’ bothsideristic bullshit for a period of some minutes. I was so angry I had to go outside and walk around my yard to compose myself. These public officials who helped pushed the sled of our democracy’s demise down the slippery slope are feckless and disgusting. I . am . done . with . kind . thoughts . for . any . of. them.

Why would Comey be ashamed? From his perspective, he has never, ever done anything that wasn’t completely proper. He’s always done the right thing, and he’s completely sure of that and will be til the day he stops eating shit and dies.
They’re not terrorists. Their purpose isn’t to terrorize. They’re not driven to terror tactics because they lack institutional representation. Their leader is the president of the United States, for god’s sake. They’re insurrectionists. Their announced purpose is to destroy the government, and set up their own government. It’s not complicated. It doesn’t require interpretation. If you have any questions, take another look at their confederate flags.
