Ex-DHS Official Warns Of ‘Intimidation Campaign’ Keeping GOPers From Accepting Trump Loss | Talking Points Memo

Chris Krebs, the former Homeland Security official who was fired by the President after debunking election-related myths and conspiracy theories, on Wednesday warned of a “coordinated effort to intimidate Republicans” in light of his lawsuit against the Trump campaign and attorney Joe diGenova.

CNN, MSNBC and the rest really should start using the word “thugs” to start describing the people showing up at officials’ homes to shout threats, bang on doors, etc., and to describe the people actually making all the threats. It’s what they are and it’s about fucking time they got it thrown in their fucking faces.

Who is running this intimidation campaign?
It appears to be pure Putin and lapdog Trump.
This should one of the firsts when Biden is sworn in.

Department of Homeland Security?

Is that still even a thing anymore?

An intimidation campaign? You know I’ve noticed that too?

All of this crap, Texas Scotus suits, etc. are just futile rear-guard actions of a beaten, retreating misfit army.

I certainly hope those GOPers who fell threatened don’t expect us to feel sorry for them do they?

Make no mistake about it Trump will take this as far as he can. We are watching a slow moving violent attempted coup. I am wringing my hands with frustration because we still have 2 more months before Biden can do anything. If we make it to January 20, what will Biden do then? I am afraid they are not taking this seriously enough. In the case of civil insurrection who is called upon to quell the violent intimidation we are already seeing? Biden seems to be bringing a knife to a gun fight.

There are multiple ways to stop an intimidation campaign. Snakes can be intimidating. The best way to stop a snake is to cut off its head.

There are multiple ways to stop the spread of misinformation. One of the ways is to make the propagation of political lies illegal and financially costly. Are lies allowed as free speech? Apparently lies are allowed as entertainment, but they are not allowed as “news”. (According to Faux Snooze during court arguments.)

The slow but thorough fix for misinformation is to make teaching civics mandatory and require every high school senior to pass a civics test or they receive no diploma. That’s just part of it. Those same seniors would need to be taught how to identify propaganda. The quality of education has to be high enough that people learn to think critically. This requires the raising of standards along with meaningful tests. How else are you going to get people not to fall for con artists and demagogues? Unfortunately, this change rate is generational and therefore slow.

Krebs did what appointees should do…he did his job and left the partisan politics at the door. Far too many Trump appointees have not done that, and it’s why things are as screwed up as they are now. We don’t know if he said anything in the background, but when the Trump corruption machine came to him to get what they wanted he stood up to it, and that’s all that matters.

I wouldn’t worry about how Biden is going to handle this…he will try to find the few reasonable Republicans in Congress to work for, which is required by our system. Hopefully there are some there and things can get done…it won’t be everything we want but it will fix stuff. As for the ones who try to foment revolt…most of them are cowards and won’t do anything real, and the few that aren’t will face law enforcement. The big issue is that we may have a larger cohort of violent people than we ever have had before, solely due to Trump and the Republicans agitating the crazy…we really won’t know how bad things are going to be for a few months. I do expect some violence, simply because Trump has urged it and some will follow through, it’s just a matter of time.

I think I can see the family resemblance to Maynard. G. Krebs, though the work ethic is entirely different.

BREAKING not NEWS!!!

WASHINGTON—One day after it issued decisions on L.G.B.T.Q. rights and the Second Amendment that provoked his ire, Donald J. Trump said that he would overrule the Supreme Court by creating a “Supremer Court.”

“Right now, if the Supreme Court makes a bad decision, quite frankly, you’re screwed,” he said. “The Supremer Court fixes that.”

Trump said that his Supremer Court would be a “beautiful, perfect court” that would make the Supreme Court “look like exactly what it is—a sad bunch of losers.”

Trump said that the Supremer Court would be housed in a “giant, gleaming building” overlooking the Supreme Court, enabling the Supremer Court Justices to “look down at those pathetic little Supreme Court jerks and laugh.”

As for choosing Justices for the Supremer Court, Trump said that there were no Supreme Court Justices worth promoting, “except maybe Brett Kavanaugh and Clarence Thomas.”

“Judge Roberts is the beauty who gave us Obamacare, and Gorsuch is a total snake,” Trump said. “At least with Kavanaugh and Thomas you’ve got two terrific people.”

The Republican Pennsylvania House leader is literally afraid of her home being bombed, so I guess you can say intimidation is a major tactic deployed by Trump’s goons against Democrats and recalcitrant Republicans. He didn’t tell the Proud Boys to stand back and stand by for nothing. Is Law Enforcement doing nothing because the terroristic threats are emanating from the White House?

Perhaps the best thing is to let Biden get inaugurated and then let the Trumpers try to overthrow him. Then they can see why its silly to think the purpose of the 2nd amendment is to let them have arms so they can fight the US military. The Trumper’s armed revolt would be over in 2 minutes, with all those white punks wetting their pants when the first shots are fired.
