Ex-Deputy AG Calls On Barr To Resign: Bill Barr’s America Is A ‘Banana Republic’

For everyone in Trumpland these words serve as oxygen for their efforts. They exist to illicit these reactions.

“Bill Barr’s America is not a place that anyone, including Trump voters, should want to go,” he continued. “It is a banana republic…"

(“Oh my G-d, Bill Barr has EATEN Carmen Miranda!”)

Please, TPM.

Barr’s comment about tweeting was not pushing back against meddling in criminal cases, even slightly.

It was pushing back against meddling in criminal cases in broad daylight.

I guess even Barr isn’t totally comfortable with that just yet.

Can’t a man betray his own country for personal monetary gain without everyone jumping all over him? What sad times these are.

I have subscribed to the “Atlantic” for ever because I struggle getting through the articles.
You don’t learn anything reading on your level, it must be above you.
What I learned over the years is my struggles have been worth it.
Trust the “Atlantic”!

Sorry, I’m serious once a week whether I need to be or not, and this out-and-out treason being overlooked by the entire GOP is just too appalling. Why in the HELL are we just scrapping every military alliance we have? WHAT IS UP WITH THAT?

Putting the con in conspiracy theory. A Harvard education doesn’t make one a critical thinker.

Said during an interview on Fox News — of course.

“Barr’s maintained that he was not directed to issue the stunning reversal on Stone’s sentencing recommendation”

Nooooooooooooooo! When our so-called “president” brays out in a tweet about how disgusting and unfair the sentencing recommendation was, that in every way constitutes a direct order to the Attorney General.

That’s how banana republics work.

You’re scolding a robot. It/He/She/ is immune to criticism no matter how spot on it is.

Let’s focus on the fact that Roger Stone put his hand on the Bible and lied under oath. He was convicted of that, among other things.

Please, some journalists need to ask Barr and Trump if that’s OK.

That’s mysterious.

Does he have separate side-deals with China we don’t know anything about - quid pro quos like you give my daughter x number of trademarks and I’ll break up with the Philippines?

With this President any and everything is possible as long as he and his family are the ones who stand to gain.

My wife did the same with The New Yorker. I was kind of surprised when we met that this 35 year old non college grad from Arkansas was reading it. She sill is.

We should have learned by now that trumPP doesn’t give straight answers to anything asked of him. He’ll plate up some word salad on a topic having nothing to do with the question or as he’s already done a few times, ignores the question or says “next” or tells the journo asking the question that he’s rude. Barr’s also become very adept at giving a straight answer as well even in sworn testimony.

Almost always in my magazine rack (and that’s a relic from another day) are the New Yorker and the Atlantic.
